I Have a Dollar... How Can I Parlay that into Internet Millions?

I've scrimped and I've saved and I've collected cans along the road, which turned out to be steel rather than aluminum so I didn't get much money for them.

I've been through parking lots, picking up stray pennies, and even stealthily checked the couch cushions for loose change when visiting a wealthy friend's house.

And, now, after months of pinching every penny I could, I have a hundred of them--a whole dollar--to invest in my fledgling online empire.

So, how can I best invest that dollar?

It's not enough to buy a domain name. Is there anyone that might rent me a domain name for a dollar a month? That'd give me a whole month to earn a dollar to pay for the second month.

Oh, but hosting, yeah, I can't get hosting for a dollar.

Okay, maybe I can rent a domain name and point it to a Blogger blog. Then, when I have more money, I can buy some hosting.

Would that work?

Look... I need some advice from experts here. I don't want waste my dollar. I want to invest it for maximum returns.

I really want to put my dollar to good use. How can I best utilize this asset?

Keep your dollar. Write articles for FREE and drive traffic to a FREE blog (Blogger.com) with affiliate links. When you make enough money, re-invest to get a WP site of your own. You can make money without spending money (just need to spend time).

Dan, use it to buy a red paperclip and do what this guy did.

one red paperclip - Kyle MacDonald

He really did turn a red paperclip into a house after about a year of trading up.

When I was a teenager, I had turned a beat up old VW Bug into a 69' Dodge Charger and fishing boat.

Then around 7 years ago, I turned a run down 58 Chevy truck into a 35 foot sailboat, two electric guitars, one amp, a cool looking coffee table and a keg of beer.

( I think I have been inspired to start another project...)

Kudos to those who figured out I was probably up to something...

Kudos also to those that offered to help (including those who sent PMs).

I'm actually okay. Thanks. I have a quarter in my pocket and like four dollars and thirty-five cents under my mattress, so I should be okay.

The point is that we frequently see threads with people posting they have x dollars to invest and asking how they can best invest that money into IM to maximize their return on it.

Sometimes, the amount of money they have may seem ridiculously low.

Your tolerance may vary. Some people think that having only $50 is spend is a laughable amount to be willing to spend on your business. Of course, there are others that think $5,000 may be a small amount to invest. Some big players may think that someone with $50,000 to invest in a business isn't a serious player.

    And so on.

The thing is that, what a person has, is what they have. You don't know what they went through to get $5 or $50 or $500 or whatever amount they have. It may be a small amount to you or me, but it's all they have. For them, it represents everything they could pull together.

They may have a job. Or maybe they don't. Whatever their case, $5 might be all they can spare. They socked it away. They've saved pennies every month. Maybe they skipped going out to dinner or the movies. They've sacrificed to get every extra penny they can.

They want a better life. They know they probably need some money to get that better life.

So, what they have is what they have. It may not be much, but to them it may represent a whole lot more than you can imagine.

It doesn't necessarily mean they are lazy or unwilling to sacrifice (those things may be revealed in later conversations). You don't know what it means aside from the fact that it's all they've got.

It may be easy for us to set aside $5 for something. It might be easy to set aside $50 or $500. So, when someone else has set aside less, we may think they aren't serious. They aren't willing to sacrifice what we have. And so on.

But, you just don't know. It may be as hard for them to save up $5 to invest in their business as it is for you to save up $50,000.

It's easy to forget that sometimes, but I think it's something for which we occasionally need a reminder.

If you find for a coupon of Hostgator, you can get your first month for 1¢. For your domain, you can get it at namecheap.com. It's a very good investmen and nobody will "rent" a domain name anyway. They sell it for much higher price than what they paid for.

Start with some Amazon Affiliate Network and I bet you can get $50 in 1 month if you write down a good plan and get more every month.

I'll bet you would at least make 100 bucks like that over time.

Or you could print it out, and tell some criminal its counterfiet money, and they would be dumb enough to give you $1,000 REAL money for it, and you would have plausible deniability:
