I'm just after some advice as an early starter with internet marketing. any help on these two questions would be greatly appreciated!!

1. what would be the best way to start out, to just come a custom to making money online, whether it be something from network marketing to something like click bank?

and 2. would it be worth "taking the plunge" with one of those expensive coaching programs? or would i be better off starting small before I go spending big money like that?

Thank you in advance!

I cannot stress to you enough from the beginning, do not become an opportunity seeker, but rather a strategic entrepreneur. I would get on Rich Schefren's list immediately so you don't get sucked into the opportunity seeker's mindset and waste several years of your life like I did...

Hi William! Start small - I know you have to 'spend money to make money' but you're better off reading a lot of the information here on the forum (tons of resources) or if you want to invest- buy a war room membership.

There are so many resources on there for all levels of internet marketing - for Free. You'll have more than enough to read without spending hundreds.

  • I always advise newbies start with affiliate marketing because there are lower start up costs and you don't have to concern yourself with customer service issues. Also if you're truly a newbie (never made one red cent) you may want to start with tangible products or CPA type affiliate programs.

In the case of newbies, while these two areas have a smaller profit margin, they require less sales knowledge.

I have literally never made a cent over the internet so that does seem like a good option, if i was to look into affiliate marketing, what products or businesses would you suggest looking into as a beginner?

Network marketing is the best business out there. I don't really like ClickBank because of refunds and people hijacking your affiliate links. Too much hassle.

So from all of this ive gathered that research before action is the best way to go, because there are so many free resources.

    1) the easiest way to start making money online is always using affiliate marketing, less work and not much technical stuff you need to setup.
    2) i would think that you start small and learn from warrior forum first, there are lots of great people here who is willing to help..

I'm with Danielle... keep reading about different methods here.

Then when you've found a way you like put a 60 day plan or something on paper and work it... stick to it... and get experience from it...

Stick to the old skool methods... nothing flash or sexy or instant... stick with the fundamentals and you can't go too far wrong.

And lastly... do what the big earners do... not as they say (because none of them are cranking out articles day in... day out).

You're getting some specific recommendations in this thread, and I can add one more. Ed Dale's Challenge is still happening. That is a wealth of information, all free, and it is well organized.

Pick something you are interested in - you either already or an expert in it or you would like to learn more about it - and create your income streams based on that. You will find methods that use a website, other methods do not. Whatever you choose, stick with it to the end before you choose a second topic. Get all the way finished, be it success or failure.

If you're going to go the website route, hang onto your money. Your domain registration is going to be about 10 dollars a year, your hosting costs should be no more than 5 or 6 dollars a month. So that is $70 tops for one year of expenses. Your first goal is to earn that back. You can learn WordPress in less than a day and use a free theme so the site itself can be free. Don't get hung up on the design elements. WordPress can be easily made to look just like a 'real' website instead of a blog.

Keyword research is free using the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Instead of buying any tools, I would first buy a War Room membership. You will get TONS of free resources by doing that. Mark Hess has a wonderful free squeeze page for WordPress over at the War Room, plus he offers a free tool to make the squeeze page real professional. That is just one example.

Welcome to the Warrior Forum. Get started on ONE thing and keep your credit card in your wallet. Seriously. You could easily spend thousands of dollars on tools and WSOs and still not make any money. Get the knowledge for practically free and apply the knowledge. It helps greatly if you are not in a hurry.

If you are in a hurry to earn money, learn one IM skill that takes a few minutes to perform, then offer it as a service at fiverr. The goal is to perform a minimum of three gigs per hour, so each gig must cost you only twenty minutes of time, including answering annoying questions from potential buyers. That will get some money in your pocket after a few weeks. Your goal is to come back to Fiverr as a buyer when you see what you need for your IM business.

    Wishing you all the best!

      Hey William10,

You'll notice that a lot of these kind of threads pop up every week (newbies asking for general guidance) and the response seems to be inline with the same mentality. A few people will recommend courses and products to buy, but the response I see time and time again is to learn one method. Become successful at this one method, learn it inside and out, basically becoming a pro at it. Then move to another method after that. By far this is the answer I see repeated the most.

As a fellow newbie I have to admit, if you don't follow this mentality you can get spread very thin very quickly from all the get rich quick and super duper easy methods that come your way. Learn one and only one method.

      And TAKE ACTION
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[3699416].message }}
  • Yeah don't spread yourself too thin. Find your niche and work your behind off on it. Get your Solid Base down, Have a plan, if you don't have one make one. Don't get distracted or discouraged, you will fail, we all do, but get back up and keep fighting and learning as much as you can and soon you'll start seeing the rewards. Internet Marketing is easy for some and hard for others. Just use your head, learn what works, follow your plan, and you'll do fine.

I would recommend you really take some time to learn what methods and practices are being used in the industry and in your niche (if you have picked a niche yet?) What I would say also is that you find one method of marketing and only use that until you start seeing good results from it, so many people will apply every new strategy they see and get no results.

I suggest you get my bootcamp videos to learn some of the stuff I wanted to know when I was starting out like The business model I use to make money online, Marketing strategies and more. Im not into promoting Hype, and would only suggest it if i thought it would be of use to you Introducing SFM

    Hope it helps!

I suggest investing in some internet marketing training. Even though this forum may be useful, the info. is too random. Wealthy Affiliate is a great option. They have excellent training and some million dollar earners in the forum.

I thought CPAs require some advance marketing knowledge; since you have to have a huge mailing list before even you can be approved.

This is simply not true. It depends on the network you're applying to, and having a huge mailing list is definitely not a prerequisite to getting approved. There are networks out there that are willing to work with beginners, so you shouldn't make false generalizations like this.

hi..while I agree with all you have been recommended in the previous posts, it is also worthwhile taking time to consider WHY you are choosing internet marketing as a career? What is the pull for you to move into this area. I hope its not the lure of a quick buck as that does not last, on the rare occasion it does happen. Also many people think it is an easy career to enter and make money in I would not agree..It takes time, focus, energy, determination, planning and lots of enthusiasm on a consistent basis.

IM is definitely not for everyone and for those that is does suit there can be fairly steep learning curves in some areas. I agree that a great investment is the $37 for war room. So many resources and free advice and great people to assist and "coach" you if required. Appreciate you may not want to spend $37 right away however its one to maybe consider once you are established and in a position to do so.

I am not trying to put you off at all, more to make sure you consider whether your style of working and what motivates you, are actually going to be matched in a career in IM.

I wish you every success.. PM me if you want any advice on this.

I agree with Paul on this one. I have had sites that were basically incomplete and had no lists, and I've gotten them into 'per action, 'per lead' and 'per sale' programs frequently. (in some cases the first html file hadn't been uploaded yet, and there was no list involved)

In answer to #2. NO. I would not recommend the expensive coaching programs at this point. There is a lot of good information here, that you don't have to spend a penny for. A lot more in the War Room (but you have to pay for that)

I would recommend Ed Dale's 30 day challenge. Last time I checked it's free, you'll learn a lot, and if you make it through the whole program, you'll probably have your first profitable site.

Bottom line, from my perspective, you shouldn't be spending anything you don't have to spend.
