Affiliate advice for niche sites

I am convinced I want to start working with niche sites and write reviews. I would just like some advice on what type of niche that converts well.

I heard rumors from here and there. Can anyone confirm if people really make a lot of money with affiliates or is it all mumbo jumbo? I will highly appreciate any good advice on this.

    Of course people are making money with affiliate marketing. If you are not even convinced there's money to be made with your business model, maybe you should step back and think about what you are doing for a second.

    If you're not convinced it won't work.

            The list is endless.
            But assuming that you are starting from scratch, I would start with Amazon. The profit margins are lower but the Kindle is converting very well. The great thing about Amazon is that you don't have to worry so much about the trust factor. Customers are already comfortable with the site (most are anyway) and you can focus on pitching the product.

            BTW I just threw Kindle out there. You can really pick anything from their site to get you going.

      Naturally these are also among the most competitive. So you have to drill down and find your little piece of the pie.

      Another option, hop on over to Amazon. Scour the bestsellers list on the site. Pick a category and see what is selling. Look for items with lots of reviews and 3-5 stars. Check to make sure there are several products so you can compare in your reviews. Then check out the searches using Google Adwords tool and make sure you have at least 1000 or more a month Exact. Go over to Google and look at the top results and see if you can beat them.

      Head on over to your favorite registrars and find a domain name that has a good keyword in it. Avoid using brand names.

      Voila...Make a site based on your best options and start promotin'!
