Generally a suspended account does not delete any files.

Work out with your hosting provider what the reason for the suspension is, and your site should be fine.

Unless it was due to a hack. In which case if the hacker damaged your files before your account was suspended, after the suspension is fixed your files will be in whatever condition the hacker left them in.

If you are using namecheap, they will suspend accounts with abnormal traffic patterns. Perhaps you got hacked and somebody starting some mass spamming work through your website? That happened to me...

First, contact the company that has physical control of your server.

The hosting company is the only one that can un-suspend your account.

Until you contact them, you don't know whether you were hacked or not. It could be that your credit card didn't process or something. It might even be an error on their part.

Don't go into full panic mode until you contact them and find out your account's status.

Based on nameservers of ns(whatever).websitewelcome.com I am thinking this looks like a hostgator hosting account, but I could be misremembering my nameserver owners.

But if you're with hostgator, contact hostgator NOW. If you're with some other host, contact them NOW.

Until you contact your hosting company, there's nothing anyone can do for you and we can't tell you if you've been hacked or what's happened beyond that your hosting account is suspended.

Usually if you contact your host the problem should be fixed within days. They should still have your site files on hand.

(My apologies, I typed this message when you were typing the response to my last post, looks like you're on track to talk to hostgator. This message was being written as you can tell in response to the message I guess you typed while I was typing my previous one.)

Do you know that you have been hacked?

Have you contacted your hosting provider to find out why your account is suspended?

I'm sorry to keep harping on this, but so far it sounds like ever since someone said the word 'hacked' you have been on the assumption that a hack is to blame.

There are numerous possible reasons for an account to be suspended, including but not limited to:
    • Failed credit card payment on your hosting account
    • Error on the part of whomever your account is hosted with
    • Violation of a term of service with your hosting provider
    • Spamming (by you or someone pointing to, relaying through or using your site/server)
    • DMCA cease and desist order/Take Down notice delivered to your hosting provider.
    • Complaints of your site being involved in spamming (true or not)
    • A script you installed used too many resources (see terms of service above)

Please, if you haven't contacted your hosting provider yet, do so. Until then you won't know why your site is suspended, and as such you won't know what the status of your site is, or when you can be back up and running.

Remember, the longer you wait, the longer before any of your potential customers can make you money.

If you're with HostGator like you say, stop posting here and call them. It takes 2 minutes to get ahold of one of their support reps, and while they probably can't unsuspend your account they can at least tell you WHY it was suspended.

You've been replying to this thread for an hour, you could have gotten an answer on this long ago.

Also - check the email address associated with your HG account, usually they will send you some kind of email with more information.

It is likely that the site was hacked. Anyway do not panic and try to get in touch with hostgator immediately. There are the ones who can solve your problem. I do not think you will find any solution here. You may also try to get some help from the hostgator forum.
