How Can We Reduce The Struggle and Help Our Downline Win?

I won't go into my whole journey here but just briefly I went through a tremendous amount of struggle before I got to where I am today.

So to help reduce that amount of struggle and pain for new people in your downline I have the following steps:

1 - Take the time to welcome new people to your organization, its key because they need the personal touch especially at first
2 - Have a clearly defined, step-by-step process to get up and running (don't be tempted to vomit) this is also what happens right after someone joins. They aren't ready to have all the details.
3 - Hook them up with key leaders and training. A system is key here, even when you are not available they can get help
4 - Be available, at first they need a little help. Don't assume they will get it just because you did. They may not be at your level of expertise or belief yet.
5 - Have others on hand that they can go to if you are not there.
6 - Stay in good communication, via e-mail, make sure they know when things are, they are not used to being set up with a schedule.
7 - Be patient, remember at one time or another, you were a "newbie" too.
8 - Take action yourself, they will only be about 50% of what you are doing, if your action is low, then theirs is even lower.

There are probably other things I could add, my initial list

What facts are you basing this on? I have no love for mlm, but if you're going to make a blanket statement like that, at least have some facts or cite your source(s).

Look at the top launches. Gurus launch only those stuff, which is in demand. How many mlm related stuff is out there? How many wso you see on mlm opportunities. I havnt seen any wso on this, neither i can count any guru promoting mlm opportunity.

I think, people here are more interested in owning/promoting their own product. Plus, they do not want to work for one mlm company when there are ton of cpa offers from thousands of companies.

IM launches have nothing do with mlm. Secondly, they represent an extremely miniscule percentage of internet marketing. I only see a disconnect between "guru launches" and tying it to interest levels in mlm.

Of course, this is an internet marketing forum, not an mlm forum, so you're stating the obvious. You're also assuming that more people are interested in cpa offers than mlm. I cannot argue either way because nobody keeps track of those statistics. This forum doesn't respresent the entire IM landscape since it's a very tiny percentage of the IM world. I've still yet to see any facts from you.

@ David, sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Here's my small contribution to your thread:

I've got a decade's worth of network marketing experience under my belt. Though I no longer participate in it, I did learn a lot of lessons from it. I have found that leadership was extremely important in helping others succeed. Also that recruiting should always be second to retailing the product or service. Teaching mlmers on how to use the internet to obtain leads and convert them was also very critical to growth.

Dont you believe, in wf, less people pursue mlm opportunities? I just made a comment about "here" (wf). I am pretty sure this is true. I am not talking about whole web. I know mlm is still going strong on lot other virtual worlds. But i do not think its going that strong in here or other IM forums. Like dp, bhw or sitepoint.

      Ankur,

No, you are correct. I read the comment "here" and wasn't quite clear on what you meant. Now I know. I apologize for my presumption. So, yes, I do agree that there aren't as many people in this forum that are interested in mlm compared to other aspects of internet marketing.

Though bear in mind, some internet marketers also particpate in mlm as another income stream. So it's still not an easy thing to measure or gauge since many of them don't talk about it or go public with it.

        I have a better solution.

        Stay away from MLM.

And this is coming from a person who did MLM for years.

I won't go into all the ins and outs as to why, for the average person, MLM
is a losing proposition. It just is. In fact, even for someone like myself, who
can market the hell out of just about anything, towards the end of my run
with MLM, I was finding that the work needed was more than the return on
        my time invested.

In other words, it just wasn't worth it.

I know there are going to be plenty of Kool-Aid drinkers here who are all
going to come piling on me to tell me what an idiot I am, but again, I am
speaking from YEARS in the trenches.

I now put in a fraction of the effort and make 4 times the money.

So by all means...go on drinking the Kool-Aid.

        But don't say I didn't warn you.

The only way your downline will win is if their marketing strategy is executed effectivey. Many times your downline doesn't have the resources to execute an effective marketing strategy, so the pillars of your MLM organization end up crumbling one by one until one day it is no more.

I think the best thing you can do to help your downline win is set a good example... and make some tough decisions when you are called to...

Too many ppl are soooo meally mouthed that they start their downlines all wrong... I am guilty of being such... but then..l am agressive learner.

I learned from my mistakes and ...

The best way to build ur downline is to build the biz with your heart, not with your head.

This is true, the best way to help your downline would be to show them your success and they will follow. The old ways of recruiting others in an opportunity and just throwing them to the wolves, is the reason why people hate MLM Companies. There is no real training, and people are not just comfortable walking up to a perfect stranger to join your opportunity.

I believe that "Attraction Marketing" is the new concept of how one can help a struggling downline prosper.
