Registered domain on namecheap.com and....

I registered a domain on namecheap.com (not going to say domain) and then I went on godaddy.com and searched the domain I just purchased and it said the domain was open to buy?

What happened?

    Nothing. GoDaddy's search queries had not been updated in the 5 seconds it took for you to buy the domain on NameCheap and then go to GoDaddy to search it. Relax, no one can register your domain if it is bought and paid for.

    Also, another question... I want to list this domain in an auction without a site..how do I show that this domain is mine? Where do I get proof etc.

      The registrant (i.e. you) will show up on a whois search (unless you bought it with privacy protection). Don't worry about that for now.
