Wordpress: To Static Or No To Static A Post

Just want to clarify.

Let's say I am targeting blue widget keyword and I want my wordpress site to be optimized with blue widget keyword. One way to do this is with static blog post?

Normally wordpress has like 10 posts to be shown on index and each post has its own title and everything. This makes me confused because I want my wordpress site specifically my domain name is only optimized for blue widget keyword.

You set your home page to be a static page instead of a post so you can optimize that page for your main keyword.

If your site is optimized for blue widgets, shouldn't your posts also be optimized for that?

One solution is a custom home.php template that displays both some extra "about my thing" information as well as a brief list of recent posts. Another is a widget area set to display only on the home page. A third is using the static page option in the dash board and recent posts in the side bar.

There are many many ways to do things like this. It all depends on your capabilities with the codebase and your intentions with the blog.

Did you ever notice that “author” is the root of the word “authority“?
