I need Clickbank advice!

I just rewrote an ebook of mine that I once tried to sell on Clickbank. I changed my Clickbank account to reflect the new website and new product name. At that point, I thought I did all I needed to do but my product did not appear in the Marketplace. I wrote an email to customer support and they said that since I had not had a sale in a while, my product was not appearing. Then they said I needed to make a sale in order for my product to appear. The problem is that I can't really make a sale UNTIL my product appears. Catch-22 of the highest order!

What should I do? Should I purchase my own ebook just to make a sale or does that violate some kind of rule?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

- John

Why not, John? I was with you all the way, up until this sentence.

Product sales are surely made from your sales page, which is on your own website, rather than from Clickbank's marketplace? Why would you need to have the product listed in the marketplace, to make a sale?

Alexa, I would love to be able to sell without the aid of Clickbank but my problem is the lack of traffic. I honestly don't know how else to get people to view my sales page! I have been purchasing PPC through Bing but that has done nothing for me. So basically, I'm invisible to customers and that is very frustrating.

And this is something that I really want to make work

if you are using PPC and still seeing no results. You may be targeting the wrong keywords, and/or your sales page needs major tweeking. Did you do any on site SEO for sales page? IF you send me a link to your sales page i will take a look at it for you. Maybe I can offer a few suggestions.

        best of luck,

I think keywords are a big problem for me. I am not sure if I'm on the right track. Should I post the link to my site here or do I need to send it to you in a private message? Not sure of the protocol on this forum. Thanks!

John, in 2005, when I made my 1st clickbank product.....I changed the price in my clickbank account to the lowest it could go..which I believe was $5 at that time..

I had someone close to me buy it (so close it might have been me) and then I raised the price back to what I was selling it for and that was it...success.

        John, we're talking at cross-purposes.

Please don't imagine I'm complaining or criticising here (I'm simply trying to help) but you've answered a completely different question from the one I asked.

        Nobody suggested that.

You can sell your product through Clickbank, with the aid of Clickbank, without your product being listed in Clickbank's marketplace.

There are countless vendors on Clickbank who have multiple products and only one marketplace listing, i.e. they sell many products that aren't listed in the marketplace.

You don't need to have your product listed in the marketplace to "sell it through Clickbank".

Your sales page is on your own website, not on Clickbank's website.

Customers don't look at Clickbank's marketplace
        (only affiliates do).

How "else"?! John, having your product listed in Clickbank's marketplace isn't a way of getting people to view your sales page. Well, not customers, anyway. Only potential affiliates.

I understand that you want help and advice about "how to get traffic to your sales page". What I'm trying to do is point out to you that being listed in Clickbank's marketplace isn't relevant to that at all.

There's no "Catch 22" here, as you put it.

Alexa, you make some great points. You don't actually make sales from being listed in the Clickbank marketplace. But I guess you do get exposure to people who can promote your site for you.

I guess it's all about traffic. To me, and my VERY limited knowledge of internet marketing, I just assumed that in order to sell a product like an ebook, you have to have affiliates help you out.

If there is some other way to promote, I would love suggestions. I don't care if other methods involve alot of work and research either. I am willing to work my butt off in order to get my product in front of potential customers.

Yes, it's true that being listed in the marketplace enables potential affiliates to find your product, but you still need to attract affiliates, and it's going to be terribly difficult to do that without having made any sales of the product yourself first.

Your problem here has nothing to do with the marketplace. It's a "How do I get traffic to my sales page?" problem. If you'll excuse the observation, the thread's title isn't helping you because it isn't actually "Clickbank advice" you need. Just internet marketing advice. And people here will be able to offer that when they know a little more about what you're marketing, I think. I don't think anyone will complain, in the circumstances, if you post a link to your sales page for observations/advice (and if they do, blame me for suggesting it).

After this conversation, I am beginning to realize that Clickbank is the LEAST of my worries

Here is the link to my sales page:
              masterlearning.com

I had someone write the copy for me but I did the design and graphics myself. I also created the video myself. I really have put alot of time into this.

I don't know...maybe the product that I'm selling doesn't appeal to many people? Or maybe it does appeal to some people but I just haven't found that niche yet?

But the reason I wrote about this subject is because it's something that I know alot about and that I truly believe that my expertise can help people interested in entering this field.

If you are having ZERO traffic to your new site....then you have bigger problems... do you have a in-house list that you can promote this to.
Do you have any other affiliate relationships that you can make an irresistible offer to...
Your problem is not, not having a sale.. i think the bigger problem is you are not successfully CREATING A BUZZ....

I think my biggest problem is that I'm so new to this, I have no list or affiliates to speak of. I did add a form to my page to capture leads but this hasn't netted much interest, mainly because no one is really visiting my site.

I thought creating a video on YouTube might help but it has only gotten three views. I'm basically doing everything, within my limited knowledge, to try and promote myself and my product. Nothing has worked yet.

How do you create a buzz about a product?
