Completely Export a Wordpress Install, themes and plugins

Hi guys

I have created an autoblog that took me quite some time to set up (the plugins, their settings, permalinks, theme, etc, etc)

I want to replicate the entire blog (even the posts if I have to, I can always bulk delete them) to a different domain. I imagine I will have to manually create a mysql database on the new domain and a few other things.

So in summary: Domain installation of wordpress and everything thats in it copied to another domain and database. I will be setting up 10 blogs like this one with the exact same layout, etc so doing this will save a large amount of time.

Is this possible? And if it is, is there an easy way to do it?

Thanks a mil

I believe a product called "WPtwin" can do that, I think theres an offer in the WSO section, just do a search.

      hi,

WPtwin works Great as long as you stay withing the same hosting company...had MAJOR issues trying to move from Bluehost to Hostgator.

  • Just do a quick search at Wordpress org forums. It's fairly painless, but 10 blogs will probably take a bit more than a few minutes. And yes, you do have to set up a new database for each, as well as changing the domain names inside and such.

One question, if you don't mind me asking: Is there a particular reason you are setting up the individual sites, rather than just pointing the different domains to the same place?

I am auto blogging and want to use my main site as a template, buy a couple domains and duplicate the entire wordpress (plugins, themes, edited code, etc) onto another domain in a different niche.

    Rinse and repeat

    Cheers

Just wondering... wouldn't the WP MultiSite (MS) feature work for you with domain mapping?

wpCyteClone.com will do exactly what you want to do. I use it myself. Here is essentially how it works without all of the steps:

    1) Create a WordPress (WP) website exactly how you want it.

    2) Install wpCyteClone and export the clone to a remote server or on the same server or download to your home PC (Not a MAC).

    3) Install WordPress on a new domain. This can be a different host as well.

    4) Install wpCyteClone on the new domain and "import" your clone.

    Basically Done!

Step 1 - when I install WordPress I use a Desktop WordPress Installer from wpdesktop.com. Time = 3 minutes max.

Steps 2, 3, and 4 takes me about 11 minutes for a 16MB file. Note that I do have to keep track of the time for installs because I do this for a living and automated run time is important to my income.

Depending on how much custimization you do with plugins and widgets you may need to manually input data (or not) such as a different Autoresponder Campaign ID for the opt-in form, WP email address, etc. However, if you do not need different data - Your Golden

    Hope this helps.

    Jeffery 100% :-)

P.S. What Andy (Wptwin method) and Istavan (MUI method) said are also good to go though I have not personally tried WPtwin myself. Have heard a lot of good things about it!
