Question about email transfer on website

Hi all,

I've redesigned a website for my boss's construction company, using wordpress. He had a basic site hosted through yahoo and had his own email through yahoo - not hisname@yahoo.com but (hisname@companyname.org). He'd like to keep his email addy and I'm not sure if that will be possible since it's through this yahoo business plan and he'll no longer be paying for that once we transfer his domain. Does anyone know if it's possible to somehow keep the same email address if he's no longer being hosted through yahoo? Since I'm redesigning and doing the work on Wordpress, we'll just transfer the domain to my account so that when he needs updates I'll just go in and update for him. (I've done the design and plug-ins to show him how it looks through a generic domain that I own prior to transferring his.).

Thanks for any info in advance
Anthony

You can transfer his email as long as you transfer the dns name to your web hosting company. As long as you have the name registered the email will also come with it.

However, anything inside that email (old emails, contacts, etc) will not transfer so get a gmail account, transfer all the old emails to that account. Set up the mail with your new host provider and fwd the emails back to the new email.

    Its very easy.

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I'll tell him tonight to set up gmail to forward his emails and go from there.
