Im new to this, just made my first website, now waiting...

Hi all, i've just discovered this whole internet marketing thing a few weeks ago. It all started with the famous George Brown's Google Sniper thing. I studied that manual, watched all the videos, and tried to apply all that i learnt to create a small website, targeting the "bodybuilding" niche. First thing that came to my mind.

Anyway, according to the Keyword Tool, the words on which i created the website gets 6,600 searches every month. And when you type those words, you get "11,500,000 results". Now, by following to the letter the Google Sniper course, i managed in a few days to have my website ranked on numer 3 on the first page. I count on going to number one, but heres whats getting tryicky: i barely received 5 visits froms search engines. Most of the visits came from Facebook, Youtube, and some backlinkings. Whats happening ? I calculated that i should receive at least 100-150 visits daily from search engines, but im getting almost none.

Anyway, im a total newbie to this IM thing, but i have 10 years of experience with advanced graphics and video editing, html and so on. So it took me very little to create a nice website according to George's manual, and i also believe that the things i've written in it are pretty good quality and convincing. Btw im marketing a Clickbank product.

As you can understand, im very impatient to see some results, because that would immediately encourage me to start creating new websites targeting other niches. Anyone knows when i'll get some results ? Im not even talking of people buying the product, but my site getting those 100-150 visits at day.

Anyway, thanks for your attention, i'll be following this forum very closely.

Hmm, I'm no SEO expert (congrats on getting to 3 in such a saturated niche, by the way!) but anything that isn't ranking on page 1 probably isn't going to bring you any real traffic. Not many people search beyond page 1 before finding what they're looking for.

But the really cool thing is, that you can jump from page 3 to page 1 by paying a bit of attention and putting in the effort. You're gonna have to backlink, probably pretty big time. Look at what the backlinks the sites in #1 and #2 got going on, and build as many of those backlinks for yourself as you can.

Don't just sit on your site. Keep creating good content. Set a goal for an article a day or whatever works best for you.

Then with the links, quality, and what you've already got going on for social networking, you'll climb climb climb up. Get to it! Good luck.

Yeah like bambii said up there, keep going until you reach number 1 I guess, it's all you can do for now. Unless you want to start paying for traffic of course. If you can get your website to page 3 then you can definitely put your website on page 1.

Are those 6,600 searches broad or exact match?

That's why. You need to use exact match. Check keyword tool again and let us know how many exact. I would throw a guess at about 600-800.

This is what i did at the keyword tool:

        I searched: x x x x

And this phrase gives me 6'600 monthly searches.

        If i type: "x x x x"

It still gives me 6'600 monthly searches.

Am i doing something wrong ? Excuse me but im a total n00b on this. How do i change from "broad" to "exact" ?

On the left hand side after you type in your search, look under 'Match Types', where you have three options: Broad, [Exact], and "Phrase". Choose [Exact].

            Ohh boy...
Now i understand... 58 monthly searches.

What a nice start for a "sniper". I just wasted money. I guess im going to duplicate the website somewhere else in some other domain, after "changing a little" the content... damn!

Just a heads up: The Google Sniper method is not ideal for a long term sustained income. You might get a few sales if you get your site ranked, but it will eventually become outranked, and probably quite quickly.
