Hey,
So I am trying to fix my bounce rate and I am hoping to get some of your feedback:

Between these 2 sites:
Baby Week by Week
1500 Calorie Meal Plan | 1500 Calorie Diet

Which one would you bounce. The part I am more specifically looking at is; is it better to have the user land on a content page directly as with 1500caloriemealplan.org

OR

should I have the user land on a welcome introduction page as with babyweekbyweek.org

which one would appeal more to you and give you a better user experience on the site?

I am sure this can help many others as well.

Thanks,
Benjamin

Most likely the surfer is going to find your article on Google or one of the others, and land on your article. Unless you only back link your home page. But what would cause them to find your home page on the SERP? Most likely they would find the article is my thinking.

I wouldn't worry too much about bounce rate. I was getting bounce rates of 85% to 90% and still managed to make $100 a day, give or take. If someone comes to your site and sees an ad they like and clicks it before spending time reading your article, that is a bounce, yet that is what you want. Get them to your page and get them off to see an advertiser as quick as you can.

Alright thanks for your advice. I was trying to decide which template would convert better because setting up 250 sites I would hope to have a better template that retains the user.

I guess the bounce rate does really determine much but it does give me an idea into which template capture the audience better.

I am trying to determine between a content landing or a landing page essentially.

I'll likely just give a mix and track analytcis to see which one works best.
