HELP! I want to start blogging soon!

Ok so I've gotten the basics down about blogging and Im going to use it to build list but i still have a few unanswered questions about it.

-I was told that in order to find a profitable niche you have to find what problems or questions people are frequently running across, provide high quality over delivered content, and capitalize on it. It makes sense but how do you find what issues people are having? keyword research??

-Backlinking I know how to do it and outsource it but do I seriously have to backlink every single article I post on my blog to rank #1-3 on my blog or should i just back link the important ones and internally link them to other post?

-Authority. I have none. I have not made a single dime online and once my blog is up and running I dont plan to make anything until maybe 6 months down the road. so my question is How do I establish it? I absolutely love the blogging/email marketing business model and I do plan on sticking with it, but I dont even know where to start with creating the blog because I simply just cant duplicate what other bloggers have done i.e. (Michael Dunlop, John Chow, Adam Horwitz and so on) nor can I post up there saying that I'm some 12 year old kid who makes six figures in a years time.

What am I missing?

making money on the internet takes time. you have to be patient.

what things are you interested in ? that's what you write about. if you think your work is not good enough - MAYBE you're right but practice makes perfect.

You can use Google's free keyword analyzer for keyword research. Also look up articles / videos on SEO.

There's more than just google adsense, too. ClickBank, Commission Junction, and lots of independent AM programs.

If you are starting a blog, start it on something you really know and that you are passionate about. Nothing worse than waking up every day writing a post about something you don't even care about.

Well I can go into almost any niche I want and like it because I am one of those people who has to research and reverse engineer everything so there you have it, the monetization part is easy and im not too worried about it, im just focused on providing great content and building my list over 6 months maybe promote something here and there, then I'm going to create my own ebook. But first I need to prove myself and build trust with people thus leading us back to providing great content.

Pinchingpennies - Brad here - I am right there with you. I love this profession and have worked hard to develop some basic skills. I found two programs that have a ton of free stuff that are tremendous help.

I joined Chris Farrell Membership - fantastic program teaches all the key skills one-two-three with skill I have never seen until now. I continue to learn more every time I post on my own blog because the training - prepared me - for advances in my skills.

I also found Yaro Starak's Blogging Mastermind. He put together several membership sites and advertises that he earned six figures. Here is what did it for me. Both Chris Farrell and Yaro Starak say almost in unison - "over deliver - quality". Build your list.

I have watched them very closely and they live up to their mantra. Chris Farrell has a ton of free resources available before and after you join. The material is exceptional and every action is reproducable - a test of any quality training system. Yaro Starak also works with Guiden Shalwig and have a series of FREE videos that cover blogging basics.

They also have a FREE Blogging Mastermind and FREE Blogging Profits both ebooks that are up over 90 pages of pure and highly useful content. The majority of these items are also free - something I know you and I appreciate.

If you have time click on over to my site and take a look. If it interetst you - don't buy just yet - get the free stuff first. Evaluate it and see if it doesn't live up to what I just told you. Then decide. One or both.

I use Chris for the website, squeeze page and high techy stuff I constantly was running into - most problems solved. The membership BTW also comes with FREE HOSTING. I have a web site and a couple of blogs loaded and a laundry list of email accounts all for the price of membership.

I use Yaro to build traffic in addition to the social media approaches Chris advocates. Nothing like having a physical possession on the internet - and it does enable me to establish some credibility and technical expertise.

Anyway, if you visit - drop a post. I would be glad to hear from you. Read my latest posts on new markets and there is also a post about Chris Farrell being #1 on IMReportCard dot com. Look at the votes over 700 compared to the next lowest in the 100s. No question - a lot of us are extremely pleased with his one-on-one and very positive attitude.

Great experience on Chris Farrell's domain. I ran into a problem early on - dropped them a short email asking if my chosen solution would work. Well, the next email I get is from one of his lieutenants who has already searched my site, diagnosed the REAL problem (remember I am learning) and did everything but actually fix it. Then went back and checked it out after I made the fix. How good is that! No charge and it is not part of the membership. He has tons of members so he didn't have to pander to me.

He just "over delivered quality - service". You can tell I am high on these guys. I do get a affiliate commission - but it won't effect your price and I am sincere - don't buy till you research the free stuff.

Check Chris Farrell's name on the internet. Go over to IMReportCard dot com and read some of the over 700 high quality reviews posted. Nobody can manufacture that many positive comments - after using his materials I guarantee - they are right!

If I can help you in any way - don't hesitate. Just drop a comment on my blog and I will do anything I can to help.

    Cheers !

    PinchingPennies,

All I have to say is... that when you do a blog post... take the extra 5-10 minutes that the others will not take and do some OPSEO (on-page-search-engine-optimization) to your page.

If you have little time... focus on:
    1) title tag
    2) URL structure of that post (permalink)
    3) H1 or H2 (headline)

Those are the most important on-page factors after you have good content.

Also...take some time and write the meta-description. Don't let Google do that for you. Download and install the All-In-One SEO plugin and use it regularly.

I firmly believe you can multiply by 3 or 5 the effectiveness of your posts by taking the extra 5 minutes it takes to do these things.... and you will definitely see the increase in traffic because of it.

As far as having to fire links at every single post... that is hogwash. Fire links at your most important pages and posts.

Good luck and best of success!

One of the most concern you need to look forward is a kind of niche that is already selling, or choose a keyword that is highest paid in adsense if your are wishing to monetize your blog. Then about the SEO and link building campaign you can outsource it and let other do the job.

      I had some problems today.

I have these new shoes, and they are like those crocs shoes and they come with a fleece liner. Well, it said you could remove the liner but I could not for the life of me figure out how to do it.

I used google to look for answers to my problem.

I also had a problem of needing to figure out how to make this app thing with facebook so I could put up a fan page. I was googling some terms for that as well.

People have problems. Some are small, some are large.

This is your mission. Determine what the problems are, and determine which of these problems you want to address and solve to help them.

This becomes your niche. You become the expert. You blog on the topic - and depending on what that is you also determine what things you can sell to these people with the problems and the best way to do that.
