Default Fellow Warriors - NEWBIE is DESPERATE

Thanks for reading this post, but I am desperate.

I never try to put my situation out there for the world, but my current living conditions have just broke the straw on the camels back so to speak.

The run down: I am currently living under the same roof with my ex wife and x mother in law, for reasons I don't want to get into right now. But the X has grated the last nerve and I don't know how much longer I will be online (she keeps disconnecting the ethernet cable from the modem, so childish)

Anyway, I need to TAKE ACTION. I just don't know really how to go about proceeding. I do have my own domain but was hopeing to leave that for my friends and family connection, you know family photos and whatnot.

But at this point I do not care what I use the domain for. I have a lot of stuff collecting digital dust. YES, this means I have been reading and reading and reading and reading, and for the most part I get confused and say that I can't do it. When in actually I know I can but I think it falls into that fear of the unknown. A lot of it I don't really understand......So like most I have never done anything.

I have been on here at the forum daily for the last two days reading threads. There is so much here to digest. Either way i have to do something to get out of this situation and get myself and my son our own place.

I am currently A computer Tech, out of touch graphic designer (haven't done that for years) with some HTML experience (again i am out of date).

OK, now I think I am rambling on cause i am so mad at myself..........

I apoligise for the long post. I guess I am looking for some direction.......

Negitive or positive feedback, just let me hear it.

I will be here as long as I can tonight. Otherwise i will be back on when i get to the office tomorrow.

Thanks to all in advance.

When ever you feel like there is no way out, or you must act now to really change your situation, you are setting yourself up for disaster.

I think you really need to brainstorm, sit down and think about what YOU would be happy doing in the long run.

Forget the huge feeling of urgency, and realize that yes your situation is in dire need, but if you can keep your wits for a bit longer you can dig yourself out.

Do not doubt yourself, set goals and start every day working steadily. Do not become distracted, let the stress roll off your back and really buckle down.

Being a computer tech is a huge plus. Work with your current skill sets to set up a profitable venture.

Craigslist might be a fantastic place to offer your services, if that does into work contact local businesses and offer your services for a monthly fee. Set up a dedicated 1800 number and tell them they can call and get help at your specified hours.

Remember, your skills are to help move you through life, not sit collecting dust.

I hope this helps, I know what your situation can feel like, but sometimes these rough times only make us stronger and prepare us for even bigger and better things.

my donain name is in my real name.

Kbelanger.com not much there to speak of. My father dinked with it and messed up the front page (all there is really) and tossed up some sort of ebay item on it.

I haven't been on it in a month or so to fix it.

No worries, I do appreciate all the coments. But I put myself here and now I am regreting the decision.

thanks

I would suggest reading 'The Secret'

It is a short read...and, if you can shift your
thinking to what it speaks about...you'll start
to see things in your life start 'magically' changing
for the better.

That's not to say you won't have to work hard and
continue learning...

but, it is to say that you need a major shift in mentality,
and that is the fastest way, that im aware of, to understand
both why and how to do that.

Just my two cents

Keep your chin up!

Thanks for those kind words Candace. Those are great suggestions, but I am not really a people person......But I will have to consider those anyway.

What I meant with the dust is all the ebooks and web templates, graphic packages....PLR, MMR, RR.......... I am sure I could some of this to get started.

Can't say I am setting myself up for disaster. I am not looking for overnight results or the next get rich quick thing. But my situation has lit the fire under my a**. I know it will take some time to see results. That works for me as long as I can see something, other that the imaginary bills floating into my account.

Ken,

If you really want to break into the digital products world, I would say set up a free site that offers the products you have. Then collect the users information for access to the downloads. Once they have logged in, give them a great upsell page. Then of course contact the emails with some helpful information or downloads and every once in a while contact them with a special offer.

This is a surefire way to utilize your downloads, however it takes a good amount of time to set up.

You could also set a blog, load all the products in the blog and place adsense on the site to generate a passive income. This idea takes only fraction of the time that the free download idea would take.

Either way they are both good business models and successful ones.

Hello Omari Taylor here,

Well you are right you need to take some kind of action. Even if it is very little, when you are consistent and do something to promote yourself everyday things go add up quick and things start happening.

Something that is very easy for you to start with that gets result for me is a blog. You probably already know but a blog is just a online journal. So that means you can write about anything you would like. With your blog you want to educate people which will establish you as a leader online. If you have been studying different way to market online then you should have a lot to write about. Every time you learn something new just write about it.

Your post doesn't have to be long at all. A couple of paragraphs is fine. Then you want to bookmark your posts a social bookmarking site. A great free tool to use is socialmarker.com. Posting everyday and bookmarking will get you traffic. There are other method but this works very well and is a good place to start. That is free traffic and should take a day or so start producing traffic to your website.

If you really want instant immediate traffic you could you use paid advertising. Ezine marketing works great as well. I want to keep this post short so will not get into ezine marketing to much. But those two method work very, very well. Hope this helps.

Since you asked (Direct Message)...and in case
anyone doesn't know which one i'm speaking about...

It's 'The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne.

Its an inexpensive book that you can find in most
book stores and places like amazon (I just saw
it there).

It was a best selling book and has had many of
the folks interviewed for it on such shows as
Oprah (Just to show how big it has gotten).

There is also a movie version (Not the movie about
the guy who has his wife's mind end up in their
daughters body...thats a different movie...that
was pretty weird...but not to bad .

Cheers,

-David

Hi,

I always found there is money offline.

I usually post what I did in threads like this one. However there is a post on the front page that explains it just as good as I can. Jobless Dad Goes Offline What Recession???

Also you could get a dozen CDs and load all of your digital products on it. Put it in a simple cd jacket or jewel case and sell copies of it to people offline. They don't have all the things you do.

Say to any small business owner. "Here is how to advertise your business on the Internet. This CD is only $20."

There are all kinds of titles you could call your CD. "How People Make Money On On The Internet, The bootstrap methods." Just throwing mud on the wall to see what sticks.

You have skills you could sell as a WSO to break the ice and get some instant cash.

You are David and your situation is Goliath. Charge full speed ahead toward the giant and aim at the head.

I wish you well,

George Wright, P.S. I wrote an ebook on how I sold stuff offline I'll be glad to email you a copy if you PM me.

If you don't know what to do and are basically stressed and unable to function to take IM action, then you need a plan!

If you're struggling with info overload and don't know where to start, you need a simple, well laid out and thought out plan delivered by someone who will support you and help you start making dollars!

It's that simple! Here's the plan I used to get 3 Clickbank cheques back to back and now I've qualified for direct deposits in quick time!

Try it - http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...g-get-now.html

P.S. I don't work for Jeremy or Don, nothing in it for me except I know how desperate I was just a few short weeks ago and it ain't no fun!

If you're a computer tech, you might consider launching a newsletter that helps people solve their computer problems -- tells them about new gadgets, software, techniques, etc...

I know this is a fairly competitive market, but that's good.

You might offer some content for free, and then other content for paid subscribers. One site I know of that does this is Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Internet Explorer (IE), Firefox, Windows Update - Everything Microsoft forgot to mention.

You could do joint-ventures with people offering software or technical eBooks, and once you get the traffic up on the website, advertise affiliate products or Google ads that offer related products and services.

Well, I hate to say it, but no matter what anyone tells you things do take some time. I mean unless you have amazing marketing skills, huge capital, or a kick-ass list, you need to build momentum.

I'd find an existing product (CPA) and start there, utilizing every free method of marketing. Then I'd reinvest the money over and over again until I really needed it.

He really hot sorry to hear that your situation especially during these difficult times. Wish there was something I could say to help you but it's up to you. You need to decide what you want to do based on the skills that you have.

Everything is possible online and I have a certain amount success to show for 10 years online but I have to agree that whatever you do by it and developing a domain name into a real website where you can sell products or starting off a blog is another possibility, it all takes time and a lot of that is research.

Sounds a good idea reading a book the secret, can't hurt can it to try to change your attitude.

I wish you all the best and good fortune for 2009!

I have not participated in the coaching but I recently bought Jeremey's other WSO and it lays out a simple to follow plan. I'm not a noob but there were a few tips in there that were new to me.

@ Iceman
Once you have your plan and you're ready to get to work you may want to get out of the house for a while (especially if the ex is unplugging the ethernet cable).

If you go to the local library you can get internet that won't be unplugged by your ex and it may also help you get some work done kind of like punching in at the office. You'll have time to get your work done and some time away from the house to recover from dealing with the ex's.

Just a thought.

Good luck bro...

I feel for your situation. First, you must know that you are a man of worth . No one can judge you for your predicament - we all have been in rough patches more than once.

I am a professional senior marketing consultant for offline businesses that are also online (Australia and SE Asia). I am going to suggest a couple of things for you to think about.

2 years ago, because of a huge payment default by a key client I suffered a business and financial collapse. Here's what I did to get out of it:

I did the one thing I DIDN'T want to do: Get a JOB.

Trust me, in my case I am ashamed to say that I had massive pride to fight through. Once I got in a job, I realised that it wasn’t so bad as I thought – eventually – because I was good at what I did and I gave my 110% – I began to earn more – my confidence started to return – my self-esteem began to heal and I developed new friends at this work place.

Then something incredible began to happen. Slowly, my debts started to diminish more and more until I am now (almost) clear from it all. YOU can do the same and more. Then I began to receive more offers to consult on my days off and with whatever free time I had I began to re-develop my own business, again. (Because this forum is not about me I won’t write about my full outcome here).

Another plus for you – if you got a job or 2 jobs, whatever - stick with it awhile...any full time job (just for a short time) and you are willing to give your 110% - your new boss will find a way for you to be online again – that’s how it works – give first. It worked for me – I know it will work for you even more, much more.

On top of that your new found friends will open up a whole new world for you.

I am happy to guide you through your situation, if you want to – but I feel you can do this on your own initiative - you can start tomorrow morning and be on your way on top again before the day is out. I know you can.
Your fellow warrior
