Traffic Geyser domains slapped ?

I have been a traffic geyser Gold member for a few months now and it really paid off... until recently.
Now, while one of my niches is still going strong thanks to the videos, I have two other domains buried in the SERPs.

The other domains were previously showing up in the results but most of their promotion was done through Traffic Geyser.
One of them actually was ranking #1 yesterday, I uploaded a video yesterday with the domain link as author and first thing in the description... and this morning, the domain disappeared from the serps altogether.

It doesn't even show up when I'm typing its name !
If anyone wants to check up on it and give a hand, i'll send the domain URL in a private message.

Since traffic geyser does not generate web pages it has nothing to do with traffic geyser.

In other words the only recognizable footprint is that of the actual video listing on the video sharing site which traffic geyser has no impact on.

So if there is any "slapping" going on its of the video sharing sites or listings themselves and completely independent of the way you submit those videos.

The only way google could know if you use traffic geyser on a video or not is for youtube videos and why would google slap themselves since ranking your youtube videos high is what they want to do ;-)

Well, Google can easily tell that your video is being uploaded at the same time on GoogleVideos, Youtube, Dailymotion an such. PLUS I follow the guidelines and put my url first in the description and author field.

The footprint does not necessarily come from TrafficGeyser as it won't be detectable by youtube itself. However it's kinda easy for Google to pick it up - same video on 15 video sharing sites at the same second.

Check to see if your domain is deindexed by entering "site:yourdomainname.com" into Google. If nothing comes up then you're deindexed.

It would be quite unusual for Google to deindex a site for incoming links. Typically, they will deindex or devalue the site that's doing the linking which results in a drop in 'link juice' but no direct penalty on the target site itself. If they did penalize you for incoming links this would open the door wide to competitors sabotaging each other.

The site was totally desindexed at the time I posted.

Now it shows just one page, that I linked yesterday from a blog post.

Since I still don't know whether the problem comes from the video posting, I will from now on link a different domain with a 301 redirect when I'm uploading a video.

This has been happening a lot lately with G- I have seen new vids and other vehicles hot the front page and then disappear after a day or so only to reappear a few days to a week later and climb back steadily to higher rankings than at first...

Check the domain in a week or so. Happens all the time to us with Brute Force, but they always come back strong. Just G doing the old "Google Shuffle" ;-)

Don't panic after just a couple of days, man.

    Peace!

Actually its not easy for google to detect the "same video" because every video sharing site encodes video differently with varying bit rates, dimensions, and file sizes and google cannot crawl video content on sites other than their own.

The only thing google can detect is text or html based descriptions. That may be where you are getting slapped... duplicate content on descriptions?

I have received some very valuable help from dburk (thanks again) and it seems that the problem comes from something else, the timing was just coincidental with the video release.

So that's good news ! I'll keep using my beloved Traffic Geyser !

Hi Everyone - this is Mike From Traffic Geyser.

Josh A. is right on what he's saying.

      He's one smart cookie.

It's not Traffic Geyser. We don't leave a footprint.

      Our domains haven't been slapped.

Your descriptions and links can be a footprint, however.

      There's more to this.

You'll notice video sites see a "rapid appearance", then they go away - sometimes after 15 minutes, sometimes a couple hours or days.

Anyone who's using any form of video search submission will see this happening.

We believe Google has changed it's display algorithm. We don't know for how long.

Google does what it wants to do, when it wants to do it, for as long as they want to.

We also believe Google is experimenting with several duplicate content filtering algorithms.

My tests have been inconclusive and inconsistent.

We're working on several "workarounds" - they are all "white hat" in nature.

In the meantime, you want to make certain you're taking full advantage of all of Traffic Geyser's submission features that go outside of "video submit only" to get ranked and stay ranked.

That means creating podcast listings and auto-posting to your blogs.

      And creating real content helps.

I'm willing to share more information and details on what I've found - but not on a public forum.

More on this in a moment.

One thing that provides consistent results is posting videos to your blogs and bookmarking those.

(and let's face it, the game is ALL ABOUT CREATING REAL CONTENT, not a bunch of spam)

If you aren't using Traffic Geyser's WordPress Automatic Blog Poster plugin, you should.

      Here's how it works.

Every time you post a video with Traffic Geyser, we grab the YouTube code, wrap it with our custom player (so it doesn't display YouTube's branding, links and other junk), post it on as many WP Blogs as you set up and then the TG WordPress Poster will post the Blog URL to all of your social bookmarks that are in your TG account.

There are 19 social bookmarking services available in the Platinum version of TG right now.

      They get picked up quickly.

Here's a training video if you want to see how it works:
(I can't post an URL until I have more posts, it's in the TG membership area)

Here's the custom WP Blogs training video:
(I can't post an URL until I have more posts, it's in the TG membership area)

There are links to the social poster plugin in the TG user area.

and if you're a Joomla user, I have beta plugins for Joomla too.

Here's the scoop - and an invitation to you:

      1. We're working on some really cool workarounds to whatever Google is up to

      2. I'm willing to give you access to the beta system when it's ready to test

      3. You need to be an existing TG user

      4. For your assistance, I'll give you Traffic Geyser Platinum Elite Access + Beta Privs
(basically, it's a ton of extra tools, submissions, sites and features that goes for $497 + $247/mo)

      5. Due to the sensitive nature of effort, you'll have to sign an NDA

      6. There are other benefits to participating too. We're generous and fair.

If you're interested in more, I'll send you an NDA and get you set up.

PM me your TG user ID and real email address.

      My expectations:
      1. You'll need to run tests and report your findings.
      2. Tell us what you learn - and what you want added to Traffic Geyser
      3. You can't disclose proprietary details on our new system
      4. Be nice

      Is that a fair deal?

      Mike

PS : I didn't know about the plugin - since my blogs are all wordpress-based, it sounds perfect for me (I was posting the videos manually all the time on the blogs).

PPS : It was really nice to have you answer here - I'll be looking forward to the beta testing !

We do have a staggered submission feature.

You can set up multiple "profiles" (combinations of uid + passwords) for any number of services.

You can create "templates" so you don't have to re-enter your data.

And you can submit with time-delay of any nature.

We're making this process even more automated...

So the bottom line is with a little ingenuity, you can appear totally natural to any number of the engines.

Even if video sites themselves got "slapped" by google and were no longer listed, it would still be valuable to use the video sites since alot of the views come from the traffic that's already on the sites.

On my youtube videos more than 70% of the views come from youtube viewers and not search engine results.

While Google can't tell you used TG, it can detect an identical linkage pattern. If all of your pages (videos) have the exact same, or very similar, linking pattern you could face some sort of penalty.

If the entire linkage pattern for each page is identical/very similar, it just screams "Submission software" and is very "unnatural".

If you submit videos using the same software, also go and get each page/video some links that are unique to each, in addition to the TG links.

It is always a good idea to get multiple link sources and varied text links.

Spinning descriptions, links and tags with varying video length combined with using several submission tools is the best.

    Hello,

I just became a member to this forum and I recieved information on the traffic geyser trial I have watched some of the videos and I have some serious unanswered questions. I do understand that you can use web video without owning your own camera. You just choose your keyword campaign and link your campaign to someone else site (or link them to another page thru traffic geyser) 1) is that persons site your linking to a member of traffic geyser? or are they just some random site at the top of google? 2) doesnt it get expensive to buy domains for every keyword campaign. They say that your domain should contain your keywords. For example: say I find a niche for the keyword "FENCES" I would have to buy a domain somthing with the word fences in it. Say two hrs latter I find another keyword niche "weight loss" I would then have to buy another domain that includes the words weight loss. That gets expensive. Is there any way to get around this. I would appriciate the help. I have been recearching internet marketing for almost 2 years know and I have made no money, It seems to me thats what everyone else wants. I get alot of garbage everyday in my emails and I am sick of it!!!! I would like to use the traffic geyser along with the free keyword recearch methods that I have learned from HOWIE SWARTZ!!!! he puts his keyword research methods together as if google wants everyone to figure them out for FREE!!!
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[445520].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author JonathanBoettcher
Ideally, yes, you would get a different domain for each campaign you setup. However, I would not recommend you simply go around setting up all kinds of campaigns willy-nilly. You'll be far more successful buying one domain (less than $10 usually) and focusing on that.

One, thing to keep in mind too:

Google has different databases and your results can change at anytime if they route your search through a different database.

Recently, Youtube has been routing me through their UK database, then USA, etc.

Just something to remember when doing searches in Google, you are not always getting the same results you may have been looking at 5 minutes ago, etc.
