And just when you thought they had thought of everything else,
something new comes up (in a bad way of course).

What will they think of next?

Having facebook tell you that your wife is cheating on you, your company plans to sack you, or that your car is getting towed away in the next 15 min? Geez.

    Steve.

Don't think it had much to do with the bank's privacy policy. They are owed money and interest which then goes through the courts to make those responsible pay up. The courts decided, after multiple attempts over a number of months to 'serve' those responsible, that their regularly used facebook account was the best possible option.

They would have monitored their accounts just with messages being sent, applications being added etc, which can be done without the help of facebook's administration or consent. That's the only way the courts would have accepted the option, if they knew they would have had a good chance of correctly 'serving' them.

That is pretty random. I had a wedding invitation on facebook a few weeks ago. They said "Please RSVP here on facebook (and be serious about it) because that way we will know how many people are coming..."
