I had posted a job for article writers a while back on one of the freelance sites. I am pasting below the exact word-to-word job posting. I want feedback from people experienced in outsourcing on whether I have missed any points.

Here is the job posting:

Good Article Writers Needed for Long Term Work

I need articles on various topics on regular basis. People applying for the job should keep the following criteria in mind:

1. You should have good English skills. I don't want spelling, punctuation or Grammar mistakes in the submitted articles.

2. The articles you submit should be 100% unique and original. You can research from various places online or offline, but should write the points in your own words. No copy/paste accepted.

3. You should deliver the articles fast. I don't want unnecessary delays.

4. The articles should be ranging from 500-600 words and should be well-researched. You should write in-depth articles covering various important points of each and every topic I ask give you. The articles should provide helpful information to the reader.

5. The articles need to be written in an engaging and entertaining style so that the reader does not get bored. It is great if you can write in such a style that the article has a potential to become viral.

6. You should quote reasonable price. Your quotation should be based on per article fees. Keep in mind that this is likely to be a long term work where you can keep getting consistent work from our side. So make sure that your rates are reasonable enough.

7. You need to submit a sample of your work.

I will check articles in copyscape. If they are found to be copied from somewhere else then the writer will not get any payment at all.

  • Hi Anwar001. Here are my opinions:

    1. Inform interested service providers about your expectations regarding minimum and maximum daily/weekly/monthly work output volume.
    2. Explain in detail these terms: "unique", "high quality" and "entertaining and engaging". Sample:

What is "unique" English content? Unique English content is English content integrated with the niche expert author's own relevant sets of observations, inferences, test results, actual experience, theories, opinions and perspectives. It should be written in a style and packaged in ways not found elsewhere...

What is "high quality" English content? High quality English content is content aimed at providing the specific native English-speaking audience with beneficial info, advice, tips, strategies and techniques useful for satisfying their relevant needs and solving their related problems...

What is "entertaining and engaging" English content? Entertaining and engaging English content is content written in a style and packaged in ways that the specific target native English-speaking audience can relate to. They need to be able to visualize a friendly human face talking behind the article on their monitors.

    3. Explain your keyword placement policies if any.
    4. Explain topic/keyword/task delegation, work output delivery, approval and payment terms.
    5. Inform them about your minimum and maximum budget.
    6. Don't mention Copyscape. Most if not all "good", "experienced" English content writers with specialized expertise in your target niches will feel insulted, since mentioning Copyscape, which cannot by any means detect actual plagiarism but rather just duplicate content, in their faces even if you have yet to see their CVs or portfolio, is similar to insulting their integrity, professionalism and work ethics as an actual English content writer...

    Ey there Anwar,

If you're posting your resume on a freelancer site in which it works by selecting the lowest bidder or something... it could backfire.

    Why?

Because you'll end up waiting for the "perfect" lowest bidder writer and then finding out later that the writer has bad grammar.

I usually do my own outsourcing, aka finding them myself. Sure, I'll post a job advert like that and I'll also go look out for them myself.

Good writers are kinda hard to find too in my experience.

To me, a good writer has these 2 qualities

    1) good grammar

    2) good work ethic

Overall, your ad sounds good. If I'm a writer, that job advert looks pretty strict. Who knows? You might filter out the ones who don't have good grammar. Cause that's the only thing that matters aside from good work ethic.

    Hi,

Mention that you hold all the rights to the articles. It is automatically understood, but still, it's better to mention that. Also, tell them about the payment frequency, weekly, every day, after every 5 articles. This will increase the bidder's interest. Mentioning the niche on which you want the articles might bring you experts on that niche. Hope it was useful.
