Default Traffic from Google Images - would this be crossing the line?

On my personal blog I have an image (of Nepal) that gets 50 to 75 hits per day via Google Images.

I'm considering using this script: FunScripts - Javascript Widgets

But modifying it so that it links to another site of mine that could use the backlinks. I know it would be disconcerting at the least for their visitors to click on the image and be taken to an unrelated page, but I'm still considering doing it.

Thoughts?

hmm.. traffics traffic I guess.

Although you be getting untargetted traffic, like you said.. backlinks might help raise your PR rating.

The traffic would not be the point - it would be for the backlinks.

Personally, if I click through on google images and don't get the image I wanted to see I immediately click out. It would depend on what you're looking for though, since a person looking for a graph might be looking for content as well, but a person looking for nepal might just be after the pictures.

I'm not sure what you mean for the backlink, links from google don't count as backlinks

JavaScript links generally aren't seen by the SE spiders bots.
They won't usually execute any JavaScript on a page.

What the script does is change the behavior of right-clicks on an image. It presents the visitor with an easy way to copy/paste a code snippet either in HTML or BBCode format so that when they use your image, they provide a backlink with a title of your choosing.

What this will do is give a backlink any time someone chooses to just use the provided code snippet.

I guess I'll do it and see what kind of feedback (if any) I get.
