Non IM niches is a little harder since you can't do free wsos, adswaps or JVs. So the best method I say is SEO or article marketing. Social media is also good for brand awareness.

You can do JVs and Adswaps in Non IM niches.

I have done several. It is about finding the person, approaching them the right way, and making them an offer, somthing they would be interested in.

DOE is also a way of finding ezines.

I have done it many times, so it can be don.

yes, of course there are some NON-IM niches that can do those things such as popular niches like online dating, weight loss etc.. especially JVs. However, that is not the case for every niche if you are refering to adswaps.

Everyone is looking for interesting content. Pics, articles or videos. Whatever.

If you provide something interesting and promo just a little, the traffic will come. Esp if you keep at that niche and keep producing over and over.

    • You can't beat search engine traffic, be it organic or from PPC. It's targeted and usually of a pretty high quality if you do it right.

I generate traffic by getting the site ranked #1 in Google for the main keywords. At the very least, you need to be in the top 5.

Also, social media is a great way to get traffic as well as Adwords.

If your niche is NON-IM related then I can't see how offering a WSO would make sense.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Im in the process of focusing on both free & paid traffic options.

For Free Traffic, Ive decided to try:

      1. SEO
      2. 10 x 10 x 4 formula for Video by Mike Koenings (I have no idea how to spell his last name)
      3. Contacting potential affiliate partners and offering them 100% comissions.

      Paid Traffic

      1. Was doing Adwords via content network. I was experimenting with sending customers to a squeeze page, was making some sales but not breaking even. Started sending them straight to the sales letter which I started breaking even , but they just suspended my account :-( So can't do that anymore
      2. Just setup a campaign with Microsoft Adcenter so see how that goes.
      3. Thinking about doing Facebook ads.

Was thinking about doing article marketing but Ive done a little bit in the past and didn't see great results, plus I just don't enjoy it.

Would anyone know of any methods of how I can use a FREE small report I've got to build a list in a non im niche??

Hey Grimace, I'd say video traffic. It's easier to rank for and you can double up and get listings in google and you tube. IF you do your proper keyword research and seo research for the videos.

You've got a good plan, but it looks like you are spreading your self a little thin. I fall victim to this ALOT. Find one method and really go after it. Pick either Free or Paid, but I wouldn't do both. Not until you are getting decent at one of them.

Once you select either free or paid, then pick one thing to do.

    That's my 2 cents :-)

I'm saying this from personal experience from myself. I have an issue with trying to do to much, then I get bogged down and don't really get any where. When all I needed to do was just stick to one thing and FOCUS.

Forums, Forums, Forums, Forums! In case you didn't get it, I'll say it once more--FORUMS.

Niche-related forums to be exact. Just about every niche has a forum, most have many. Google is your friend here. Simply enter this into Google:

    Keyword + Forums

And you will see for yourself. So how do you use them to drive traffic? Sig lines. Don't just put "Anchor text" into your sig line and leave either.

For example I promote in a women's shoe niche. I've built a list completely through forums by advertising my site, which points to a squeeze page to get coupon codes for the various retailers selling the product.

I also promote an MMA gear site through (you guessed it) MMA related forums.

Niche-related forums are one of the best ways to market online and quite honestly I'm surprised many others don't ever seem to talk about the big benefits of such marketing practices.

    • Non IM keyword markets? Well congratulations. I didn't start making any money until I stopped focusing on IM, and started blogs on particular markets.

All of our domains get their traffic because of blog posts. Lots of blog posts. Google loves good blogs, and you don't have to worry about SEO - just write.

If you interlink your posts, you will start to get more and more traffic over time. Just take a look at your biggest competing sites in the niche and you likely find there are not many (if any) highly ranked blogs in the niche if it's tight. So if you focus in on that blog, you will be amazed at how well you will do over time.

Put your head down like a horse with blinders for six months and don't get discouraged. It will pay off.

Here is a method I am using to generate free traffic to Non-IM niches.

Say your niche is in the Mens Health area.

Well that will fall into :
The Clickbank "Health & Fitness" category
        The Click2sell "Mens Health" category
The PayDotCom "Health & Fitness" category

Now if you can get a banner ad right on the pages where people are
searching for exactly those areas - that is going to get you some targeted traffic - right ?

Here is a tutorial which describes how to do just that:
How to set up Your Banner Ad

        Hope that helps

I would say get involved in forums in your niche(do 10 posts a day and find the top producers in those forums ) ,network with top blogs in your niche , write guest post in those blogs , interview some giants in the niche and build your list by creating product and having the top producers in your niche promote your stuff. It is the most effective way to build your list . once you have a responsive sales would be coming pretty much every day

Article Marketing, JV's, ad-swaps, PPC (I prefer yahoo/bing), social sites. Traffic generation is pretty much the same across the board buddy. It doesn't change from market to market. Traffic generation is traffic generation.

If you're taking the free traffic route, SEO, video and article marketing are all very effective in generating traffic to your site.

If using the paid route, PPV and media buys are great ways of driving traffic. In addition to that, Facebook Ads work particularly well with "evergreen" mainstream niches (like weight loss, dieting, food, finance, etc.) because of its demographic targeting. There is also the possibility of getting extremely cheap clicks if you choose the "pay per impression" option instead of the "pay per click" one.

You can get really good traffic from Yahoo Answers, and Ezinearticles, especially if you write good ones (informative, entertaining, long articles) and get them syndicated on niche blogs and websites.

Something you should do immediately is google your main keyword followed by "forums"

Join these forums in your niche and set aside 3 posts per day with your affiliate link in your signature. This will bring in some traffic

Content is all you need sometimes if the niche is narrow enough. Google will find it on its own and serve it to people. All you have to do is stuff it lightly with some keywords.
