I'm Giving Out a Free Ebook But Still No One is Opting In

So after reading a lot about list building and reading about how, "The money is in the list".

I decided to put up an opt in section on my site and give away a free ebook for the sign up.

So far it's been like 3 weeks and only 2 people have opted in.

So I give 5 solid bullet point reasons why the visitor needs the book. I give them a clear call to action.

But still nothing, I get around 100 visitors a day. So what do you guys think?

    Hey 3000,

It's impossible to say without taking a look at your opt in...

    URL?

How much TARGETED traffic are you driving to your site? You can't just expect to slap up an opt-in page and think people are magically going to sign up. Is your free incentive really something somebody would want to have in exchange for giving you their email? Those are a couple things to think about that might help.

Hmmm.. Targeted yes most of my traffic comes from Google and Youtube. As for the ebook yes actually it's a pretty legit book of 70 pages of great content actually. Its just a rebrand not my own.

Besides what others here have mentioned, how prominent is the opt in box? Is it hidden below the fold? Is it a full blown page?

It may be something as simple as placement. From the sounds of it, people may not be noticing it.

There's no magic to it. You have to figure out what sorts
of appeals are likely to work with your traffic, then test
    some different offers.

Every offer is going to be a free ebook. Maybe your market
doesn't like ebooks, but more likely your offer just lacks an
urgent appeal or doesn't strike visitors as new or "must have"
    information.

Just 'cause you think your ebook is grand doesn't mean others
will. Thankfully, it's easy to test some different appeals with
PLR ebooks in your general niche. When you find an appeal
that seems to be pulling best, build on that and if the PLR
ebook sucks, write a better one that fits the most popular
    appeal.

Really - nobody wants your stupid ebook. No offense intended.
People crave useful information where the usefulness outweighs
the time and effort getting the information demands.

If your ebook is 70 pages and you mention that, maybe the
length of the book is a turn-off. It's hard to guess without
    seeing your offer.

The trick is to figure out what information people do want
and build your ebook offer around that.

I have the same problem, but it comes with a program that I purchased trough clickbank, the squeezee page looks nice and everything and I am getting people to it, targeted from google or youtube as well, but no1 has opted in.. In this one I am giving a set of 9 videos explaining everything about affiliate marketing,,, don't know what is going on... but lets see, its been up for 3 weeks I think..

Bring it up above the fold. Changing the colors and words on the Sign Up button can help!
