Over the last couple of days I've read a couple of comments that took me back a little bit. They all had one thing in common - They made reference to new marketers and seasoned marketers alike being afraid to join in conversations and discussions for fear of being attacked on the forum? Is this true? Personally, I've never had this happen to me. Sure, I've been here for a year now, but in that time I am proud to say that I at one point in time asked some of the most newbie comments possible I was never attacked or treated with anything except for kindness or respect.Sure, I've seen the occasional flare up where a thread gets out of hand, but that definitely isn't the rule, from what I've seen. |

Jeremy, Those types of comments mainly come from two sources: 1) The spammers and scammers and trolls who get caught and called out by other members, or; 2) Newbies/newcomers who can't/don't/won't recognize that those being called out are spammers or scammers or trolls, and that it's for their benefit that these lowlifes are being called out. Sure, sometimes there are flare-ups simply due to a misunderstanding or, perhaps, a personality conflict, but in the majority of cases there is cause. |

I have seen some very respected people attacked right along with the trolls...there are some nasty people here. The good news is...there are some phenomenal and amazing people as well. I can certainly understand the intimidation, however. I was probably nervous to post when I was new. |

Jeremy, I've only been attacked once, over a period of a few weeks by a Warrior who doesn't come around here anymore. Except for the occasional stalker, I don't have any problems posting. But I (usually) only post what I have learned from hard data and statistical research. You know...the truth. As Mike said above, it's usually scammers, spammers and trolls that cause the problems. Yeh, I think this is pne of the most polite and most helpful forums around. To be fair I like a little bit of conflict now and again and disagreements otherwise this forum would be fake, and the info inside of it would not be as gold as its made out! People are always going to disagree about things in life so if that happens here which to be fair has happened more recently I have noticed, it shows there is genuine passion on the forum and I for one like that! I am not condoning any attacks on people though by the way, but constructive cristicism and opinions make this forum what it is! Long may it live and prosper! There is sometimes a little intimidation with new members, I was once a little intimidated to post when I was brand new, but if yuo are passionate about what you do, speak up! GoGetta |

What's the old saying, you can't please all of the people all of the time? Mostly it's great here. Even the posts that leave a bad taste are gone in a few days. Grown ups can take the occasional knock, the petulant kids don't hang around for long. Anyway, forums exist for people to express opinions. You should never be afraid to speak, even if you're the 1% against the 99. Bob |

I think this place can be very intimidating and very cliche, but it's not surprising really. People are here trying to make money and understand the process of making money online and so there's desperation and frustration and down right jealousy! People get intimidated when they realise that X makes $000,000+ per year online and all kinds of jealous crap can come into play! And for all of the above reasons, I see that some tend to stick to the people they 'know'. Is it possible to break all that down and make a name for yourself here and get to sit at the top table? Hell yes! On a personal note, I work hard at staying away from the drama that often errupts here simply because I recognise this place as a place of business and I for one want to keep my business reputation in tact. |

The warrior forums has had bad rep for being hostile for a while, I do agree with Mike above. One reason this forum seems more hostile than others is because scammers & spammers are called out more often due to many experienced members recognizing an a-hole scammer when they see one. Members also look after each other more here so scammers are usually cooked alive in public. ![]() Which gives an impression of hostility & anger. Also when you have a forum with so many high caliber members, It can be intimidating to post because others have and share far more advanced knowledge than most of us. It almost seems pointless to post in there shadow IMO. I cant imagine how intimidating it is for a newbie with none or little knowledge of marketing. -paul |

I've been a bit shocked at some of the threads in the last few days too, and certain respected marketers have shocked me by some of the things they've said. Maybe I'm just easily shocked ? I try to treat others as I'd like to be treated myself, and if there's nasty stuff going on I try to stay out of it. Otherwise the forum is great, and I've met some really nice people here. I can see why people might feel a bit intimidated when they first arrive though. |

I remember vividly few years back when I was newbie, I made a comment that people can sell text link on their site just like Text Link Ads. Back then it was such not a big issue with Google as it is now. Then, a respected member quote my post and said "only idiots do that". I don't want to name names, but he has a "guru" status here. It 'seems' that way, but thank God it only seems so. The truth is many fantastic ideas and new strategies come from people who haven't yet made more than $1000 a month. It happens because they are thinking...and talking. And sometimes they say something that makes certain ones watching 'click'... You would be surprised at where some of the most profitable things really came from...and just 'who' was watching and caught them. There are far too many people who think the more well known marketers have all the answers and all the ideas when they themselves are lurking and watching all over the Internet for new ideas.

I personally have always found this place to be very polite and friendly. That was even when I was asking the most obvious and "newbish" questions that I could think of. If this place wasn't what it is, I honestly don't believe that I would be where I am in my business today...which is sitting at home in my pajamas at 11 AM wondering what I will do after putting a couple of hours of work in. So for that, I thank everyone for making this place the most comprehensive and friendly resource I have yet to find online |

Yes, it is true. I have seen people being attacked, even personally, for asking a simple question. I can point to atleast one recent thread, if that is not deleted yet, where a noob(not a scammer, spammer or a troll) was attacked personally for asking a simple question by a so called "respected" warrior. Then as usual, the other warriors came to the rescue and the thread got buried. This type of incident happens every now and then. There is a bright side of this type of threads. You can see the true colors of some people and pick the ones you don't want to deal with...ever. But make no mistake,in my opinion, out of all the free marketing forums this is one of the best, if not THE best. Besides the information available here, some really cool people hang out here. Once you get to know a few of them, you cannot help but love this place. Tanvir |

I can't remember the last time i read a post that was malevolent or evil, everyone here is like jesus, it's incredible. Everyone here is truly helpful and genuinely wants you to succeed. It really does motivate you, and make you more sure of yourself. If it wasn't for WF, i don't know where i would be. |

I've been in the recording studio this morning laying down some new tracks as I am taking the day off from work, but I am now on my lunch break and seeing this thread, I thought I would add my 2 cents. The Warrior Forum is nothing more than a microcosm of the world we live in. The other day, my wife went to the store to get some things and there was a long line. Well, the lady in back of her was screaming and making a scene because the line was so long. She was complaining that it was too hot in the store and she was going to have a heart attack and on and on. In the meantime, I went to the store later on to get me a few things and the lady in front of me saw that I only had a few things and offered to let me go ahead of her as she had a whole shopping basket full of stuff. You are going to run into good and bad people anywhere you go. I guess what amazes me is that people actually expect that because this is the Warrior Forum that everybody here is going to play nice. News flash...I have been the personal whipping boy of several people since I got here. I've got a thick skin or I would have been gone on day 1 when I was practically run out of town. If you expect a Peter Pan world, you're going to be very disappointed. But if you realize that people are people and don't cower in your corner because you're afraid you'll get blasted by somebody, you'll do just fine. Focus on 2 things. 1. Contributing to the forum so that others value your membership. 2. Concentrate on the posts that help you and your business. The rest of it, as they say, is just BS. |

As far as being vicious, except in a minority of well deserved cases, I don't think so. It seems to me that new folks are treated just as well as anyone else. Don't forget that there is a very large, "Silent Majority" out there who just come to read and not participate in discussions. If you factor them into the equation, I 'd hazard a guess that the "viciousness" is a micro percentage of everything that goes on here.

I registered here early last month and can honestly say I have never been part of a community of people so inspiring, helpful, and knowledgable about the work they are involved in. Ever. The only downside (if you can call it that) as that since joining, I have suffered a tremendous lack of sleep because I find myself on here all the time! ![]() Sure I see the odd "attack" of a post, when someone disagrees - but that's only natural in such a thriving forum. However I also see that if a PERSON is attacked, that's when we as a community seem to come together and help the victim. Again - It's the way it should be. Many marketers on here have been here for a long time and have built up respect and reputation. They deserve to be helped when wronged. I have fallen in love with this forum and have made some amazing new friends in such a short space of time. Long may it continue! |

This is a fantastic forum and there are LOTS of smart people here contributing tons of great content. For the most part the noobs get polite answers to their questions and a tremendous amount of help from people that probably have a lot of other things they could be doing other than offering free help and advice. The times that I do see people being a little impolite (other than trolls and scammers) is when someone posts a rant without any kind of usefull lesson to be learned. I don't think that newbies should be afraid to post here but I would recommend spending a little time reading before they start posting. When I first discovered this forum I spent a LOT of time reading posts not only learning great tid bits of information but also learning how this forum operates. Some people get annoyed (and rightfully so IMO) when noobs come in and ask a question that they could have found the answer to if they had spent a minute or two reading the posts. But, overall I think newbies should not be afraid to participate in the forum. Many times, if someone does attack a noob other warriors will quickly come to their aid. |

Whilst I would never condone abusive behaviour, I actually welcome threads that stir up, shall we say "lively debate". If all parties refrain from outright name-calling, but just concentrate on the argument, there's much to learn from those both participating and merely lurking. Even great posts by seasoned and respected Warriors shouldn't be seen as "sermons" but rather as a springboard for your own thoughts and ideas. And if a point is unclear or seems wrong to you, please don't be afraid to post about it. Your question or observation can often serve to move the debate into more interesting areas or at the least, coax more experienced Warriors to elaborate on their thoughts. We can all learn just as much from a Warrior's response to being honestly questioned as we can from his/her pearls of wisdom. And anyway, sticks and stones etc. Frank

I totally agree with all your points Allen. To clarify, a newbie might never post because they feel they cant add value to a discussion compared to many members here. This may be completely false but in there mind it's an intimidating prospect made worst by the occasional hostilities. A seasoned marketer may never post out of fear there information - which could be amazingly good or insightful would be ripped apart by naysayer. As active members we know this isn't how the warrior forum always is...however on the outside things can 'seem' different. I agree the warrior forum is a great place and i personally would never want to leave, The generosity of most members to share there time, knowledge and insight goes far beyond anywhere else on the net in my eyes. The problem? Not everyone sees it through our eyes. Just my 2 cents. -paul

Joining a new forum is like when you were a kid and joined a new school. At first, you don't know anybody and it's intimidating. You're careful what you say because you don't want the other kids to laugh at you. Then, little by little, you get to know people and develop relationships and join in conversations. In time, you become part of the community and feel like you've been there forever. This forum is better than the school experience. The people here are much more friendly and helpful than any school I've ever been too. Writing about this reminded me of something somebody once told me about university. You spend your second year trying to get rid of the friends you made in the first year. Martin |

This forum has been a wonderful resource for me - both professionally and personally! Being a member here brings countless benefits. However, there are those who make a point of attacking others needlessly - especially if they believe it will somehow elevate their own status as an authority or expert. There are also those mindless folks who will fall for it. A little common sense can go a long way in these situations. As with many things in life, the Warrior Forum is what you make of it. For every person who is lurking due to feeling fearful or not wanting to look silly, I say this: just jump in and make yourself at home! The benefits far outweigh the risks! Cindy |

I haven't experienced anything like that. The majority of the people on this forum are very polite, and I'm glad to be apart of such a community. One of the things that I've learned, and this goes for the entire internet in general, is that you usually have to have a thick skin while browsing the web. Nobody's going to mollycoddle you, and people can be very blunt when it comes to getting their point across. Bluntness often gets mistaken for rudeness. I've even seen people equate bluntness with rudeness, and I really don't think that's the case at all. When marketers are blunt, they're just getting to the point of the matter at hand because they don't want to waste their time, and believe it or not, they don't want to waste your time either. Then there are the trolls and such, but that's a different story altogether. |

| I hope it's not about me . I added my "thanks" to adamv's post because I fully agreed with him - he just was able to write it out much better than I ever could. And to be honest, I didn't even notice what was the other name in the box. However, I don't want to remove my name because my thank you to adamv is genuine...I am really new to this forum and, of course, I went around reading a few hours before posting anything. Isn't that the normal way when you join a new forum? When I finally decided to ask a question, I get an overwhelming amount of helpful and extremely useful advice. No condescending attitude from experienced warriors... or anything like that. On the contrary! |

Been on for 2 months and everyone has been cool and the only time I see anger is when someone is spamming outright. It takes a while when you're new but you'll find even newbies can have something useful to add. I've seen one forum where they actually warn you before you join that the people will be nasty and and moved on right away. |

I seen one spammer/scammer that made a statement to someone with a wso as a piece of crap.., no real reason, no evidence, no empirical data, just said he thought his stuff was crap, that's all, don't take it personally if it ain't true. That killed any credibility he might have had. Also confirming his rep as a wso post hijacker. Lowlife. Only 2 post or so, go figure. Newbies defending crap products and producers, with statement like, "give him a chance", no evidence or empirical data to support their opinion , only "feelings"...."he's trying, give him a chance......." Newbie must learn the difference between something that is PROVEN to work vs something that is PROVEN crap, and call it out like it is. Unless Newbie has lots of cash to give away, in that case, I'll send you some crap to download and charge your paypal, afterall, "give me a chance, at least I'm trying." The 13 th Warrior
