I'm asking if it's possible for you all to give me a bit of a hand today. I'm currently working on a product that talks about using Wordpress and I'd love to hear your top questions, beefs, complains, desires, how to questions about using Wordpress!

Hi digitalproductreporter. I'm truly not trying to do anything but gain opinions on using wordpress. If you do go to the site, you find nothing but a place to ask a question.

My apologies if this does not come out sincere. It truly is meant to be. And I am gladly offering the first copies of the product that will be produced to those to help as a simple thanks.

When I do have a product to offer, I will gladly offer it in the WSO section.

I don't' know what your intent is, just telling you how it might be perceived

trust me, this is a tough crowd for "self promotion"

why don't you just have people answer here instead of going back to your website?

Getting an opinion on the forum and driving people to an opt-in form are 2 different things.. What you post does is come very close to self promotion.

But this is what amazes me.. All these "products" on how to use or run wordpress and not one of them (but mine ofcourse because it is based on security) address the issue of hacking and security.

My question would be simply this:

Why create another wordpress product on how to use or run a wordpress blog when 100's of these products already exist ?

Not one of those 100's of products address the fact of hackers and security, which like it or not is a reality. As stated on my website - A recent report by the Congressional Research Service stated that the financial impact of computer hackers amounts to $226 billion annually. Another report calculated that hackers could be taking up to six cents of every Internet dollar of revenue.

That is a great deal of money for people to just ignore.. So again I can ask this question:

Why create another wordpress product on how to use or run a wordpress blog when 100's of these products already exist and not one of them helps correct the problem of security but WordPress Secured?

Hi Frank,

I'm a WordPress freak too. I'm assuming you've upgraded to 2.7?
I think there are going to be many issues with that version. I'm a techy geeky sort, and I even had a couple of issues.

Thanks for the replies, and I have no problems with people just posting their questions here.

As to your post James, you are correct. There are a lot of products out there already. There are a lot of solutions and there are alot of problems with many of them. A fair bit of the content is outdated unfortunately. Some good, and some bad.

Hence the reason I'm asking the question, what problems do you have with wordpress? What questions do you want answered about wordpress? Why the heck should I bother with wordpress?

As to wordpress 2.7, I'm very pleased with the development. It's just not lipstick and eye shadow. The hard workers developing wp have done some fine work tightening up the code on the actual functions within wordpress. I immediately noticed that the possibility of wp double posting a page or post seems to have been rectified! Very, very nice.
