Need Advice on monetizing site!

Hey Guys

I just started learning about SEO and internet marketing about a year ago. I recently gave birth to a baby girl, and now that I'm stuck at home most of the time, I'd like to actually do something with this knowledge (as basic as it is).

I have a great domain name, and my niche is fitness &health. I'm not sure what the best way of monetizing my site is.
I've heard that by offering a free e-book with some affiliate links incorporated (only up to 5), after driving traffic to the site is a great way of doing so.

any advice would be much appreciated!

thanks!

I'm assuming you're talking about the site in your sig.

If you're getting regular visitors, review a weight loss product or something similar.

A free guide with follow up emails ending in a sell is a great and fool proof method too.

You have the potential to be an authority site with a domain name like that.

      My own personal take is:

      - Build a list by offering a free ebook on a specific topic. You're in a very cool month because already people are starting to think of summer slim look but you've got to add a hook to it some how so its not like every other summer slim bod ebook out there. You could also mix it with some vids if you wanted to.

      - Get on social media like Facebook and look for people who are in your niche, weight loss coaches, fitness instructors. You'd need to make a facebook page (as opposed to just having a profile) Add the people/pages and comment on their posts. Meanwhile add snippets of advice, polls etc to your own page.

      - I would personally avoid using too many google adsense placements on the top of the page (the text one).

      - Review products is a good way but my experience is you have to really have to buy and read that product and know how it works to review it and still then there is no guarantee.

      - Invite people in your niche as mentioned in my facebook comment above to do guest articles - link back and forth. Always nice for SEO plus they are more likely to tell their site visitors they have guest posted somewhere.

      - Check Google news for the latest in fitness niche and write posts based on the same title (but switch the title up a bit)

      - Keep and eye on what celebrities are doing and their fitness regime - are they using equipment or fitness workout clothes you can affiliate with?

      - Once you have people on your list you can use that to write newsletter based on products from other people or info products you put together yourself.

      - There are other niches you can venture into whilst still keeping in the fitness arena and I see you're already blogging on them - healthy eating, healthy eating on a budget...etc.

That's just a few ideas - I hope they may help.

I would very much go for list building and selling products (yours preferably) through that list.

I think you've got a great site here and I wish you the best of luck with it.

Looking at your "About" page I can see that you are passionate about this topic, however so are a million other people. Personally, I believe that your "topic" is too broad - "Fitness Information"? this is a huge market and there are already many well established players in this field.

If you persist going down this road, you wont make a significant monetary return for at least 5 years and that is only if you work extremely hard trying to make this an authority site.

          My Recommendation:

          1. Focus on a specific niche that you are passionate about (example: Staying Fit before, during, after pregnancy...)
          2. Remove the ad's and focus on making a website with extremely good content.
          3. Sign up for aweber and incorporate an optin on the side of the page. Therefore when your target market reads your extremely valuable content they will opt in to receive more valuable content from you. (you also give them a free ebook, 7 day course at this stage)
          4. Grow your following by continuing to write good content
          5. At this stage you can create your own "product" or offer a product from clickbank as an affiliate. <-- This is your monetization strategy, this is where you will make recurring income from month to month.

I don't think your domain is worth very much at all, like I said before it is too broad and there are already major players in this field.

Then again, this is my first post and other warriors here definitely know more than me.

You might want to think about monitizing your site with amazon products - use pictures of the products with a link from the picture and text links. You can drive traffic by guest writing on other blogs, submitting you ebooks to free ebook sites, posting yahoo answers, create free videos, make a hub page and finding appropriate forums to post on using your signature link. Don't forget to twitter about your site and build a facebook fanpage.

Make sure that you give them the free ebook in exchange for signing up on your list. I would use the links in your ebook to link back to your site so you are getting the traffic and not your affiliates. When the promotion is over, so is your ability to capture the customers attention.

Click bank and amazon are great places to start and promote their products. If you can get into other cpa companies like Maxbounty and Neverblue you will be able to do pretty well. Good luck

    1. Get a free report with valuableinformation done for you

    2. Create your squeeze page so you drive traffic to it

    3. send traffic to your squeeze page so you build your list (Use forums , media buys , youtube , facebook , youtube to drive traffic to your site )

4 . do a review of a product that really resonates with you

    5. create a bonus package that top 50 buyers would get access to if they buy the preview product

    6. Do more product reviews

7 . Survey your list and ask for the biggest challenge they are facing (use surveymonkey.com , it is free )

    8. Create product that addreses that problem

    9. Get top Joint Venture partners to send you traffic and build your list in exchange for % of the sales of your product
