Problem With My Fiverr Gig:/

Hello , Someone purchased one of my Fiverr Gigs , to submit to Web 2.0 sites and Article directories. I Got the articles (There was Two.) I started to submit , but his article was only 250 words! I Had to end up re writing some of his Article , as many directories would not accept it.

I got along to Ezine , and they wouldn't accept it either.

He only got half of his Backlinks , But it wasn't my fault as the whole article was self promotion and most of the Major article directories would not accept it.

Is This still My Fault? As the article directoires would not accept it. I Hope I still get Paid as he still got some quality Backlinks.

Many Thanks

In an ideal world you should still get paid as the quality issues weren't down to you,
but if you made no mention of article requirements you may just have to write this off, rather than risk your reputation.

You might want to update your gig to state the minimum length of the article required, and the quality/type of article it should be.

Perhaps word it that you will submit to the aritcle directories but that due to the editorial policies of the individual sites you submit to you can't guarantee they will be accepted (and mention that a better quality aritcle stands more chance of being accepted). Then provide proof of your submission and the rejection in your report to the client at the end of it.

If you did not mention in your gig that you exactly required how many words articles, then yes, it is your fault. You should have mentioned it clearly in your gig.
Be descriptive and informative in your gig to avoid such embarassing moments.

The fault lies with you - you should know exactly what the requirements are for an article to be published, and 250 words does not cut it.

It's not your fault that you got saddled with a substandard article, BUT you should have rejected the gig instead of taking it on. Why risk a misunderstanding and a consequent blow to your reputation on Fiverr over one gig? It'd have been much better for you to not have taken it on.

You are absolutely right - this is not your fault - because person dont know the criteria of submitting it to article directories - if article is self-centered and written only for self-promotion it is likely to get rejected.

    You are no wrong...

Take this as a learn and grow lesson. Nothing wrong in making mistakes, not learning from them is the killer.
Now you know exactly what is required you can change your gig to show these facts. Then that is one mistake you will not be making again. Refund the guy and offer to go again if his article meets the requirements.
