How do I get my message out there?

First, let me say that I started with internet marketing a few months ago. I got into this knowing that if I really wanted to be successful that I would need to establish myself as a leader in whatever I was marketing. In my first couple months I have spent all of my time getting to know my business back and front, as well as putting together a support site for any new users getting into this business that will help them with any questions they have upon entering this business. I am fully confident in the system I am using and I am fully confident that anyone that uses it will also be happy with it.

Now that I have all the preparation work done, I need to know the best ways that I can 'get my message out there'. I have tried traffic exchanges with little success. I have tried free-ad sites with little success (kijiji, craigslist, etc). I have tried making video's to post on youtube, etc. I have tried a few 'off-line' techniques such as making 'sizzle-cards' and of course, talking to people directly about this business.

I haven't had a ton of success in any area I have tried so far but I am sure there are some marketing techniques out there that people have great success with, I just don't know about them yet. I don't plan on giving up on this business and I know it will take time. Any help with some good techniques to market my business would be much appreciated.
