Help-Should I change my username??

Almost everyone has made a joke or picked on me for the name "annoyedgirl" I know 99% of them were jokes and nothing mean. So I decided to change my username. I submitted a ticket to the helpdesk to change it.

But now some ppl told me to keep it cause it's sort of a "brand".

WHAT SHOULD I DO? I'm so confused!!!

Should it be:
Annoyedgirl
or
valerieSONORA
or
something else (then what_____________)

Personally, I would change it. "annoyedgirl" just sends bad vibes in my opinion -- too negative.

There is something about annoyedgirl that I like. It is kind of playful, yet serious? Can't quite put my finger on it, but that is definitely the best.

You should either keep it as is, or change it to one of two things, your business name or your real name, or an alias name if you are using one. I would keep it as is, since that is how you are most recognizable on the forum. However, if you are wanting to build a new brand, then you could go that route and create a whole new brand for yourself.

I'm not trying to build a new brand, I just don't want ppl to think I'm annoyed ALL THE TIME which I'm not. It just depends on the day.

I think everyone has come to know you as 'annoyedgirl' so now we have to think twice about it to connect your name to the 'annoyedgirl'

.

However, I think for business sake you would probably be better using your real name, to build up relationships and confidence in who you are and associate you with your actual name - does that make sense?

I have considered changing my name as well, and selling my website. Then creating a central brand. I had originally intended on using an alias which is where the "jjp" part of the domain comes from, but later decided against it.

Personally I like annoyedgirl. It was a kind of brand and even more so when you had a more annoyed looking photo! Although your name sounds kinda cool. Six syllables. It trips off the tongue.

"VAL-ER-IE SON-OR-A"

So it easily "sticks" as they say...

Shezz go to your control panel, click on edit details and you can put whatever you want under your username.

Yes avenuegirl, I do, but I haven't been keeping up with it unfortunately. There is so much to rant about. I still have to rant about stupid yahoo answers deleting me for simply saying "it's illegal" when someone asked about cash gifting. Now I'm getting annoyed again lol.

You know, you can always open a second Warrior account as annoyedgirl (or some close variation) and reserve that account for ranting and being silly in the Off-Topic Forum, and use your real name account for the "serious" forums. I know at least a couple of other Warriors who have done just that in the past.

Well, as long as you're not using them for anything shady -- like using one to give good feedback on a WSO the other account is running, for instance.

But several people have used joke accounts in the OT in the past. And then there's the Hillbilly Marketer...

I prefer annoyedgirl myself, sure people would take the occasional picking at you, but I think that's good because you get to establish you brand and identity. Well it seems to late for that though.. Though I always liked the name Valerie..

I actually opened a HelpDesk ticket about it (multiple accounts)... because I couldn't find a rule about it anywhere. Curiosity got the best of me.

I believe the "no multiple accounts" rule is a rule on DP Forums. I don't know if there is an official rule for it on the WF... but I would think it would at least be frowned upon.

I will let you know what I find out.

I liked annoyedgirl better. It had more character. It felt more real and connectable. There's nothing wrong with using your real name, and I understand why using your real name is a positive.

To me they're boring and cold. if you know how to properly work under a "persona" you can do a whole lot more with it while having fun at the same time...

I like your real name however I see what they mean especially since you really have built up a brand name for yourself.

I think stay with AnnoyedGirl, using your real name would take a little time to grow on you unless people are reading this explanatory thread regarding the whole name change thing.
