Generating Leads Vs Leaving Visitors

Hi,

I run my site at www.lunchboxdiet.co.uk and have been getting about 500 visits per day. I have been using a squeeze where about 20 percent opt in.

Whats your view on the 80% that leave. Is it better for me to have the lead capture and get those 20% or drive more traffic to my sale page without the opt in?

    I'd definitely keep the opt in but test a few things with it to see if you can increase your percentage of opt-ins. One thing I noticed is your opt in doesn't appear for some time. I'd have it appearing when loading the page as at the moment if I don't stay on the page I could miss your opt in

    I wonder could it be because they don't come across an opt in form?

    I visited your site, and on the first page (with the video) there isn't any form, and if I click away from the site I'm not stopped by an exit pop up offering me anything.

    I then tried the 'products' link (the sales page) and again I skimmed through it but didn't notice an opt in form.

    I did see an opt in form on the 'body transformation' competition page but it didn't offer any incentive to sign up.

    You should have a noticeable opt in form on every page offering some incentive, like maybe free lunchbox ideas or a 3 day plan or something. I'd also add an exit pop up to capture as much exit traffic as possible.

    I love your diet by the way - I did it for about 6 months a year or two ago. I still use your lunch box ideas for days at the office.

      Regarding the 80% who leave you can decrease that
      number by having an opt-in form on the first page and
      above the fold.

      Focus on instead building your list of subscribers and
      convert them into buyers.

      Note: This review refers to an earlier version of the home
      page that didn't have an optin form on it. It has since been
      changed.


      Your home page is not what I'd consider to be a squeeze
      page at all.

      Why?

      There's no bloddy opt-in form on it!

      There's a 3-minute video (which is way too long IMO)

      I had to click on the green link to then go to a page to
      find the opt-in form.

      You've got some great testimonials and endorsements
      from magazines etc that are hidden in the video and
      elsewhere. People should see some of these in the first
      page without clicking, scrolling or watching a 'long' video.

      For example, you can have the major endorsements by
      magazines by quotes and/or screenshots on the squeeze
      page.

      Hint: Put an opt-in form on the home page and you'll get
      more than 20% of visitors opting in. What a concept!

    what i do is when they try to leave have a pop op box saying hey thanks for dropping buy and have you checked this out ( Which is your free teaser) and some visitors will opt back in.You should test this yourself on your squeeze page.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the comments. I'm having a problem with an exit pop in that when people put in their details into the opt in, the pop up comes up then!

    Any ideas on the best one to use with wordpress?
