What makes an offer irresistible?

Lets start a discussion on How to make your offer irresistible..?

Scenario 1 : You have Fans.
Every-time you launch a new product, your usual swarm of fans will buy like crazy. Is it the scarcity of the product, or 90% is just about you? Whatever you are releasing or selling, they will find it useful and appeals to their needs.

Scenario 2 : You are a newbie.

You are just beginning to market your product. You don't have a list. What makes people buy from you. Does it really matters to them who produces the product or what the product can really help them with.

What is the best recommendations that you can give for a newbie to make their offer irresistible?

Thanks,
Shah

People like to see that others have, in fact, had success. Problogger ran a guest post recently detailing some of the tactics used by the infomercial business. I'd HIGHLY recommend reading it. Those guys have their business down to a science.

  • If you are a nobody on the scene, coming out with some system you used that has made you an utter success generally helps.

I mean, think of this as a catchy headline:

A 19 year old Nobody from Toronto,Canada, Goes Online and Makes $14'050.99 in Just 2 Months....

The major concept there is a major (yet possibly realistic) success from a new guy on the scene in a short period of time.

In order to sell a newbie have to have a good offer. This is a pretty basic point.

However, when creating an offer he have to consider the marketplace. Now business is all about "Free" this and "Free" that. He can find web site after web site loaded with free information or providing free tools or giving away free software.

He need to make sure his offer eliminates risk to his buyer. His customer has to feel assured that there is no cost to check out your product / service. And only if he/she likes what his offering will there be a cost.
There will be a few problem for newbie for having not the list but thats not the fact. Because seriously it doesn't matters.

  • well said!

Anyone with half a brain in the field knows that there is an insane lack of trust issues in the internet marketing genre online. People lie, twist their stories and tell half truths all the time. One of the biggest things that will make an offer great is whether or not the potential buyer can trust the words on the screen.

I remember a few years ago, looking at an interesting product online and saw the usual hype at the bottom saying there was only 30 left... I clicked through to buy the product and there was an additional item for sale as an add-on. Then above this, I saw there was only 40 left... yeah, magically there was 10 more available....

Then after i declined the add-on product, it went through to clickbank and now there was only "9 left". At this point, I'd lost ALL trust in the guy selling the information, closed the window and carried out with my day.

He had lost the sale due to lies and inconsistency with the lies. I didn't trust him or his product anymore. I was thinking in my head:

"If this guy has to lie to push sales, then i think i'll pass."

    You get the idea....

      To the Op,

If you can find a problem and then offer a solution to the problem. Now, if you follow politics, Donald Trump did an interview the other day and he spoke about bringing jobs back to America. Thats an irresistible offer.

I can't think of one politician who was talking about that. So, to recap, if you can't find a problem in your niche then talk about what no one else talking about.

      Daniel, (or, to anyone)

Do you feel that this industry has gained a bad name?

If so, why do you think that is?

"If this guy has to lie to push sales, then i think i'll pass."

      Interesting.

I agree. Yet, there are ALOT of IM'ers who go to great lengths to justify lying and deceiving others.

The only offers I find irresistible are of products that I actually need or want and the sales page indicates that this product will fit the bill.

      Let's see...

From my experience i can tell you that one of the best ways to make your offer "irresistible" is to add unexpected bonuses.

Give your customers bonuses which are valuable and which help to improve the use of the product you are selling.

For example, if you are selling backlink or seo software, add on various ebooks about that subject that explains what backlinks or seo is and then tell them how to use those software..etc.

With unexpected bonuses you will make your customers very happy and they will come back to buy from you again!

      All the best,

Agree with this. If I'm on the fence about a product, a really enticing bonus can make me jump the fence.

and the best way to turn me off your product is to have a MUST have upsell as soon as I get in the door. If you haven't included everything I need to make use of your product, then you are merely baiting and switching and I will ask for a refund. Another thing I hate is OTO. How do I know I won't actually want what is in the OTO at a later date. I would much rather see an OTO that says - okay, you can get this upsell today for $x but if you don't take advantage of this OTO price, it will be available to you later for $x+y. If I find out later that I need the upsell, then okay, I missed out on the discount, but I'll gladly pay for it when I determine that I need it.

By the way, this is not meant to be a reflection on anyone in this thread. I quoted David because I agree with his comments.

    Two things (IMO).

First. You have to touch on their most inner desire for why they "need" your product. For example, they might want to know that it has 6 gadgets and 3 gizmos. BUT, what will really motivate them to buy is the fact that those 6 gadgest and 3 gizmos will allow them to spend more time with their kids instead of washing dishes and cleaning the house.

Second. I agree with one fo the other comments.... Testimonials are great. As long as people believe them.

Show actual successes and case studies. Don't provide shills or yes men either. Discuss the steps that are going to provide result x,y, or z.

Good offer to newbies...my opinion...trust, plain offer without all the hype, NO up sales, NO pop up after pop up, honesty and personal after sales support.

If you want to know how it's done check out Sean Donahoe, The Manic Marketer...I don't know anyone online with his integrity and personal support. So if you want to do it right from the begining take a look at his setup, you have nothing to loose...everything to gain :-)

    Regards and good luck.

If I feel confident that I have a strong usp opportunity, what is the best way to recruit publisher's to review it? We have the ability to work direct with pub's.
