No, I've never had the virus myself, but the thread seemed to suggest a solution for someone who did. Steve |

You might try going into "windows explorer" and deleting "any" file that is dated beyond a certain date. If you noticed this file last week you can go back a couple weeks and look for more recent files to delete. There may be something left in the "temporary files" folder which is OK to delete. This takes a while if you don't want to use software but I've been able to remove a bunch of garbage that way. I also run "Disk Cleanup" every day and "Defrag" once a month if needed. Empty your cash and cookies. Firefox has a "History" function that remembers each and every internet page you visit and that library can get pretty big. I like the function because if you forget a webpage you want to revisit you can go there to find it. Good luck. Ed |

Avast is really good for getting rid of stuff. When you first download it and install it, you have to restart the computer to finish the install, then you have the option of doing a scan half way through the restart when nothing else is moving or active. I had a serious problem that paralyzed AVG so I downloaded avast and that did the job. It took 2 more serious problems with avg before I finally uninstalled it and went with just Avast. |

Once I got the similar virus. Kaspersky Internet security 2009 solved the problem.

Thanks Much!! I am already using Avast. They said to send the virus file thru their software interface to analyse it. Mean while I had to do boot scan everytime I open my computer. That's 3 hours and computer is slow ... . |
