Hey guys, I am going to be promoting a clickbank product through article marketing. My goal is to write a crap load of articles and send people to my blog at blogger.com. I have a good idea of what blogs are for (information/advice) but I am having a little trouble getting it going.

What exactly should I be writing in my blogs? how often should I write in my blog? and can I take articles that I've written and sent to directories and put them into my blog page? Also, where exactly should I put my affiliate link in the blog? What are the best areas to put my link and how should I advertise the product on my blog page? Should I just reccommend the product? Maybe a review of some sort?

If someone could answer a few of my questions I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest you invest in a domain name, hosting account and autoresponder instead of using blogger.com. The cost isn't great ($10 name, $10/month hosting, $20/month autoresponder) and you accomplish two things you won't with Blogger.com.

1: you start branding what you are doing. What you post is still yours, and you control it. You control the look, feel and features of your site, and are not subject to the whims of a third party.

2: You can start creating a list, so you can market to the people again and again. Setting up a site with a direct affiliate link gets one purchase for every so many clicks through to the sales page. If they don't buy immediately, they are probably "gone forever." You can capture more people into your list than would initially buy the product, and you can then market to them more than once with the very same product if you choose to. If they don't bite on that product, you can promote a similar product later and perhaps capture more revenue that way.

In case you didn't catch it in 1: above, the biggest problem I see with Blogger.com and similar online blogging sites, is that according to their Terms of Service (TOS) they own any content you place on their site. Though this might not be a big problem, if you develop a successful site, then want to copy the information from it to your own (new) site, you can't, at least according to their TOS. Other problems may be that you can't post an affiliate link with some of them (haven't checked blogger lately). Another issue, is that blogger will put adsense on your blogger pages and may or may not share that income with you. Either way, it distracts people from clicking on your links and may reduce the effectiveness of the site for your purposes.

Just make sure the 'crap load of articles' you write are not 'crap'!

Concentrate on good quality content and delivering value to your readers and blog visitors and you'll build a list of people who like and trust you. That's where the money lies, but be sure never to abuse that trust or you'll burn your list in a heartbeat.

I would write about things that I'm passionate about, that I have natural interest in. People feel it if you have passion, or if you are writing just to make money.

But almost everyone is passionate about making money. How to stand out like that?

We are talking about two different things here:
A.) Being passionate about making money, so picking up a topic that would sell.
B.) Being passionate about a topic, so making money with it.

          I think you're talking about A. I am talking about B.

I didn't mention that being passionate about your topic isn't all you need to stand out, but it's a necessary ingredient. To stand out you have to be different. This isn't always easy but can be reached many ways. Maybe you go deeper in the subject matter, maybe you make it easier to understand, maybe you have unique voice and style, etc...

well I can relate to acne problems, I have suffered with acne for the past four years and I know how frustrating and difficult it can be to deal with

With that said, I don't think I'll have any problem being passionate on that topic.

Although I can not speak for the product because I have never actually tried it before, but as far as writing informational articles I have enough experience with acne to the point where I can relate to my audience.

Like RickDayle mentioned, buy a domain name and a hosting. It's not that expensive, is it? Godaddy has a lot of offers for the newbies and hostgator can give you a one-month hosting almost for free (with just 0.01$). After that, make sure you write some good content there and do a lot of reviews. Put some friends to review the product and post their reviews on the blog.
Do not expect, however, to earn money in the first weeks (or even months). It is a process that takes a lot of time and you shouldn't start acting like the webmaster if it's only for money. Passion must come first, that's what I've learnt in my five years of doing websites. Best of luck and keep on working!

Ask yourself what are the needs of the people who I want to sell the this product, what are their questions, desires etc.

For every question/desire create a post talking about it, at the end of each post put a short paragraph explaining how this product solves/answers their Qs.

i think writing is a very passionate thing. one has to feel about a particular thing before writting on it. hence it suggest that on which ever topic you write you should read a little about that thing so that you can put valid comments on the related topic.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I may consider purchasing a web domain and hosting but as of the moment I don't really have the extra money, even if it is only a little bit. I am going off of the newbie workbook. It is a 30 day campaign made by Brian Zimmerman. The idea is to write a few articles each day that link to your blog. There are many other things too like social bookmarking, ping, rss aggregator, and wordpress. I am new to making a blog that is why I have so many questions. I understand what you are saying by not actually owning your content on a blog, but this is my first actualy campaign that I am putting work into. I basically just want to get a feel for everything and see what kind of results I get. I plan on putting quality information into my articles and blog. I am going to be writing about natural acne solutions. I plan to promote the Acne No More ebook off of CB and I've also found some really good keywords to use.

If I do make a blog, how many pages should I have in it? Should I create a product review page on my blog, kind of like a pre-sell page with pros and cons of the product./

Also, once I create my blog, do I have to keep updating it in order to stay ranked in google?

I don't want to setup a crappy blog nor crappy articles. I plan to write informational articles that will help people with their acne problems. Giving them tips and suggestions on ways to clear their acne. At the end of my article I will tell them that they should check out my blog for more information on acne solutions and tips. Once they get to my blog I figured i'd have several different pages that target different types of acne along with solutions that have been proven to work, maybe suggest the Acne No More product here and there with a link to the sales page. Also, maybe write a review page about the product.

Let me know what you guys think about this.
