How do you log in to a Webinar?

I'm embarssed to ask, I've been a member here since '08 and can't even spell embarassed, and I pride myself on my tech skill's, but I've never learned how to join a webinar.

At first I didn't care to, because I prefer to read my stuff, and didn't have time to tarry through hours of discussion to pick out nuggets, but I can now see an advantage in some webinar exposure.

I honestly have no idea where to start, but I'll buy a WSO or whatever if I just don't have to spend hours searching goog...my research time is at a premium right now.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • It depends on the webinar company of course.

But, for GoToWebinar (and others are similar), you'll be sent a link to register for the webinar. Name and email address, usual thing.

Then, an hour or so before the webinar, you'll be sent the link to join the webinar and view it.

It's a simple enough process, there's some software that's automatically downloaded to your computer when you join the webinar so you can view it, ask questions etc.

If you want to test it out, just sign up for one of the many free ones that's advertised all the time. You don't even have to stay and watch all the webinar, but it will show you what's involved.

It should be very simple: just sign up and click on the link at "show time."

If you're having trouble with GoToWebinar, it could be because your browser can't successfully download and install the Java plug-in. That happened to me. So I switched to another browser (IE) and it worked.
