How to be successful at placing banners

I attended Mark Anastasi's Traffic Generation Conference in London last weekend - four days and free - well worth the investement of time and expences. Thank you Mark. As a result od Saj P's presentation I decided to have a go at banner advertising as he said it was a sure and simple way to get started and gave a live demo.
I selected a clickbank product and placed a banner as a leaderboard for commission crusher (good grav) on Dumb Little Man - Tips for Life.

2000 impressions later I have 2 clicks (and one of those was me - testing!)

As dumb little man is a very popular site I assumed that I had chosen the wrong product for my audience and have added another hopefully more suited however clearly I don't know what I am doing and this was an expensive ($289) mistake.

Where can I get some step by step instruction on Banner Marketing for affiliates? Any advice would be welcome

    I also attended the event in London. probably the best man is Scott Rewick. I was going to take his mentorship but I realised after speaking to Scott that I would need more money that what I can afford right now, to make it work.

    Specially since he's talking about split testing, I can pressume anybody would lose money at first (at least) until you find a winner that let's you make money...

    Saj made it appear very easy... the reality is not that simple and it requires some study.

    If you visit or Google Scott rewick, you'll find that you can get some coaching or even buy a program of his that is suppossed to be pretty good.

      hey guys, save your money, find a decent mentor and get them to help you, otherwise there are some good wso's on banner advertising, when i come across the links ill send them your way
