Default BUYING a Flipped site

Lots of info here on creating, selling/flipping a site.

But has anyone here ever bought a pre-made, revenue producing site?

What has been your experience, up and down?

Do selling flipped sites can come back to bite you?

I think if I were going to buy an established site I would want to do my research and find out what continued work is involved for the site to keep earning revenue.

Then you really need to be prepared to put the work into the site to keep it making money. Don't buy a site and then just expect it to make you rich straight away, chances are that to make money with the site you will still need to work at it.

Having said that, I haven't actually bought one, but I have sold sites and I know that I always tell my customers in the sales page that they do need to promote the sites if they want to earn money from it.

I have a little experience in this area...

As long as you complete the required due diligence before you purchase a website and know exactly what you are getting into, you shouldn't run into any problems.

The main thing that I look at when acquiring a pre-existing website is the level of "uniqueness" of the content and concept. Many people will try and sell you a "100% Unique" website that already has revenue. A lot of these are just spin-offs of other websites the seller owns that contain rewritten content and a little bit of unsustained promotion. These are the ones you want to stay away from. Look for sites that have a unique concept and unique content, not just a cheap spinoff of a pre-existing profitable website...
