So why don't you? I mean not that specific thing obviously, but something just as viral. what's the craziest thing you can think of. Sex sells...the olympics are popular....What about Nude Hamster Olympics? Could be popular.

Well, I was sorta being tongue in cheek, but it is a brilliant promotion, isn't it? I just would want to come up with something that didn't involve thawing bigfoot meat.

Nude hamster Olympics - didn't Richard Gere already try that one? Oh, I did NOT just go there. Wait, that was a gerbil anyway.

What truly astounds me about the Bigfoot thing is that serious journalists, not just people from the whackier tabloids, actually went out to cover it. It's not that slow a news week, is it?

I read that article the other day from a local newspaper.

What ever happened after they held that private news conference in Palo Alto on Friday 15th August 2008 with "credentiated media only"?

I think they tried the "Semi Naked Gerbil Olypics", but it didn't work out...

Dana,

LOL it's always that slow of a news week isn't it? I think that's why PRs are such a viable marketing method. It's also why I never pay attention to the news unless I absolutely have to. Like the Richard Gere thing. No idea what that's about, aside from my own personal assumptions. Although I'm starting to get the feeling that gerbils are more popular than hamsters now. When did that happen?

Oh yeah, I forgot the best example. That nude news website. That made the news. It was a news site that was being reported on by other news sites. How more ironic can you get than that?
