How to Create an Optin and autoresponder

Could someone give me a little guidance on how to create an optin and autoresponder? I know how to create a newletter on my site, but it doesn't do any kind of autoresponder so there must be more to it.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Feel free to use the search button... it has been discussed hundreds of times.

    You need either an autoresponder (AR) service or an AR script.
    Since you don't know anything about it, I wouldn't recommend the second option!

    Your AR provider will give you the optin form.

    Getresponse, Aweber, Imnica, iContact... just a few of the AR companies.

    You'll need to get an autor-responder account at like AWeber, iContact etc... You can try AWeber for the 1st month for $1. If you don't understand how to use them, there are plenty of tutorials on their site and their customer service is great. Also, one of the support techs will call you within a couple of days of signing up.

    Sites like madmimi and mailchimp give you a free allowance to start off with, so you could try one of them to start off with for the time being?

      Thanks very much for your help everyone. It's much appreciated. I looked at AWeber and that looks like what I need. I'm on my way to converting my site to a more sales oriented approach and am looking forward to getting rolling with my optin and autoresponder.
