Thumbs Up OR Thumbs Down

As we all know, Google and Facebook and a lot of other well known sites have some time of way to thumbs up or thumbs down.

Do you think the Warrior Forum should have some way of thumbs upping or thumbs downing a thread.

And if you do, what would be the benefit of liking or disliking a thread.

Just an idea...

Well, there already is a way to "like" something with the Thanks.

I understand that some people want to express their dislike of something, but I also understand why some sites don't do that. It's probably better to keep the negativity out of the equation.

I don't like the idea as some people will hit dislike just because they do not like you haha.

I kinda like the idea. Gives the person an idea of what is good or not.

Please, no - the WF does not need to imitate Facebook. This idea has been proposed before and I'm glad it's not been added.

The thanks button is superior - because it's not anonymous. Surely marketers are smart enough to read posts that interest them and ignore those that don't. You can also see number of views and number of posts here.

There would be no benefit to a thumbs up or down. An opinion from an anonymous person is worthless. You have no way to know if THEY know anything or not about marketing.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

One person's garbage is another's treasure.
Just because warrior A does not agree does not mean that warrior B will not find it useful. Besides useless threads usually get buried in a few hours anyway.

WOW...it seems I lot of people don't like the idea. I wonder what it means, too me, the market place should decide if something of true value or not. By creating this feature, maybe the warrior forum will become more valuable becuase it is disscussing issues that the marketplace really wants to know about.

After all, if it isn't servicing a purpose, then what is the value in it?

I don't see how this feature has any impact on what gets discussed here.

Exactly. What would a like/dislike option add that the "Thanks" doesn't already?

One thing I would like to see that I've thought about is a way to search the most thanked posts. For example, if you're searching for a topic like "link bait" or whatever, it would also be nice to see the most thanked post related to that search.

  • There's already an option to rate a thread, which basically does the same thing.

The purpose of this forum is to share info, not express disapproval of ideas. Personally, I don't NEED validation of my opinions from other people, and I don't welcome it to the point I would want an "official" ratings system here. It seems a lot like a solution in search of a problem.

I don't see Dislike button in facebook.
The same thing.. is that I don't see -1 button in google.

There must be a reason for that.
