      AdWords, about $15,000/month.

Don't let that number scare you - I built up to it very gradually!

Outside of that I don't spend money on advertising directly, just other things, like software and scripts that will improve my marketing, outsourcing social bookmarking and things like that, etc.

I don't really use Adwords much either.

I spend most of my 'advertising dollar' on viral and longer term techniques such as social bookmarking, software, articles etc. etc.

There are tons of ways to advertise for free on the internet...

It's all under the umbrella called...

    WEB 2.0

    Here's an example...

Go to Google and Google My Name...

    PAVON DUNBAR

You will see I'm all over Google...

Because I brand my name using Web 2.0 techniques...

    Myspace...

    HubPages...

    EzineArticles....

    Blogs...

    Just to name a few...

tho I am/was the SEO,rankings and stuff, guy when it came to advertising...after listening to some recorded calls with guys like Reese and everybody else...I am REALLY thinking of making my advertising 20% articles, seo, social bookmarking etc... and 80% on PPC on google and especially yahoo.

I have to test first, but from the case studies they showed you can really build a list pretty fast if your lading page converts...you can bring traffic pretty fast without having high rankings on search engines and stuff

EDIT: don't get me wrong, I like free traffic and to have stuff that will be on the internet for a long time to come...but why wait x amount of time to get the ball rolling when I can get it a couple of days, and I can get it really good.

And for my future plans I am going to go with Ryan Deiss's method...scrape the profits of the front end for advertising in order to get more clients for my backend or membership site
