I recently had a press release written.

It is very good and I would recommend the writer
to other IMers.

My question is;

I need more press releases.
Should I use the same guy or, use a different writer for
each press release?

My thinking is, on one hand I have I a writer that does
great work.
On the other hand, different writers would have a different
"voice".

Opinions please.

    Hey LC

Well, you found a good PR writer so that's a good start and if you want someone to write in the same voice then that's fine.

I like to have as many good writers as possible though because there will come a time when you need something written fast and your one writer may be too busy to help.

If you find good writers treat them well and hang on to them like goldust!

      Well, I would use both.

      Reasons:
      1. they are hard to find.
      2. You can always have the writer write it differently each time.
I.E. You could easily write about a subject you're passionate about like beautiful women 10,000 different ways.

Keep looking for other writers while you have this one write about your new and improved widget X-19 in 500 different ways. Then the writer will likely become burnt out and you will by then have found another good writer and continue on from there.

        Hi lcombs,

I totally agree with what Roy, Michael and Enfusia have to say.

It's never a good "long term" business strategy to just put all your eggs into one basket with "one" writer.

You certainly need to put the effort in to go out and find a few more "good" one's.

A bit of short term pain for some long term gain of course! :p

Pretty much what I was thinking.

I just wanted a little confirmation.

And, just FYI, I found him on Fiverr.

Thank you all for your input.

I personally would explore other writers. really what do you have to lose besides a few bucks. Try out a few and hold on to the good ones. Just my 2cents.

I would say try more and let your writers know (tactfully) that they are competing. That will stimulate them to be creative and insightful in their work.
A way of creating competition would be to let them know where they articles are being published so they can check "who got their job" this time.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If you found someone who does great work, just like a great news reporter, you keep using them.

Are you looking for your releases to have a multiplicity of "voices"? Sometimes consistency is preferable.

      Exactly!
Think of that writer you found as your PR (nor press release but Public Relation) person
He should always speak the same "language"...

True, however, each PR is for the same site focusing on different keywords.

Having given it some thought and reading your posts, (very much appreciated), I have made my decision.

I will post the results within a week or so.

And, if I get the results I expect, I will post the entire plan.

It is never a bad idea to experiment with different writers. You can have a very good writer and think "why fix it, if it ain't broken" however, after while you're gonna want a different perspective and some fresh material. So why not experiment so you can have a few good ones to chose from?
