    Yes and no.

    Let me ask you, do you like watching commercials on Youtube? ....I don't either.

    Simply put, people go to Youtube to be educated or informed...not sold to....

    Use Youtube as a means to drive traffic to your other pages, but 1st GIVE VALUE. If you simply promote, you'll almost always fail.

      I agree with the Yes and No. You really need to have a popular channel that receives a lot of visitors. After you find a niche to build up, then you can try putting in a little advertising.

      There are a ton of people who only use YouTube for promoting, so taking this route, you'd have a massive amount of competition.

    Links in your signatures on youtube does not help in getting SEO benifits to improve your page ranks because they are nofollow. But it can help you a lot in attracting traffic from your videos and website links. It is a big source of traffic for many people.

      That's debatable, assuming you mean descriptions where you say signatures. Those links may be no follow, but I don't think it's a slam-dunk that no follow links have zero SEO value.
