Choosing a blog domain

I've been doing some keyword research, and the domain name I would like based on my keywords is four words long. I'm just wondering what you guys think about domains of this length?

The main reason for my blog is to drive targeted traffic to my online store.

    how many letters is it? and does it look too long in the address bar?

    for me personally,
    even 4 words is ok..
    depend on your target..
    if your target to make people easy remembering your domain, just make it short..
    but if you plan on focusing seo traffic, please consider on-page seo very well..

      Thanks for the advice

      My plan for my blog is to direct traffic to my ecommerce store. It will include information, advice, and reviews.

      The domain I was thinking of with four words is 20 characters long (the keyword part of the domain only). It does look a little bit long, but it includes a good couple of keywords. I'm trying to think whether I should just shorten it or not.

      Hi

      Do not worry about a 4 word domain name.

      Just make sure that it is relevant to your site and its content.

      I am assuming that the keywords in the domain actually get at least 1000 searches a month to make it more worthwhile?

        The main keyword in it does, but the other doesn't have at least 1000. The domains I actually want that have good searches per month and a lowish number of competition are taken. Is it a better idea to take a domain I want and just add a word on the end of it? Thanks.

    what's the ending of the url you are choosing?

    is it?

    .com?

    .org?

    .net?

    If it isn't any of them, don't bother registering it!

      It's .com I plan to register. I found a good keyword domain with reviews in the domain - do you think having reviews in the domain is a good or bad idea for me.... I plan to add reviews and information to the blog. Also, the domain with reviews was taken so I added 'uk' at the end as it is a UK shop. Only problem is the UK are my main customer base, but I plan to have sales from elsewhere in the EU. Should I use a different end word than 'UK'?

    Make a decision that you feel is most appropriate.

    i'd possibly try adding the word:

    Online

    to the domain name.

      The only problem is the domain will be even longer if I add 'online', or does this not matter too much?

      it would be this aaaaaaaaaaaareviewsonline.com (the a's would be replaced with my main keyword - just did this to show the length).

    Ahhh bad news, that domain is taken! Maybe I should go ahead with the UK ending instead. Unless anyone knows of other words I can add on?

    ETA: The .co.uk for it is available - is it a bad idea to take this one?

    the last one i was considering making myself (yes it's available) as most individuals do not trust review sites any more and look to forums instead.

    Create a forum specifically for individuals to discuss products. Set it up so that you have a homepage with access to a forums tab at the top. Have a forum set up that users have to register to if they want to view it.

    But also include an entire area of the site as a typical review style site.
    On the homepage, keep it brief and give people an idea of what the site's aim is.

    ie, for geniune reviews and discussions about products from visitors, to visitors.

    Then create a products section for people to click on, this should include a very descriptive account of each product set up with active space. This serves as an index, so people can pick an choose something they'd like to look at.

    Use bullet points as much as possible, keep it short and sweet.

    The final section would be a specific product review on an entire page. People would click through to this.

    Maybe include a link on the right hand side to the forum discussion for the product.

    Use your head, and this idea of mine could be a masterpiece... enjoy
