Why is Google doing this to me :)

Hey guys,

Is it normal when my website was first on the 3rd page, then after i've added some homepage backlinks (2 PR5, 10 PR4, 3 PR3), it catapulted on the 28th page.

My website is about 3-4 months old. Is this still a Google Dance or is "Big G" telling me to **** off?

Any input would be appreciated.

King regards,
Andrii

Google dance for sure, I have so many sites that make no sense where Google is concerned now I just wait and they show back up.

I just had a site I have been working on for 3 months backlinking etc prior to the product being available to the market and it kept dissapearing and that has been happening for 3 months until finally the other day WHAM straigh in #2 of Google just in time for the product being available so I would not worry it will come back.

    Good luck

If a site disappears and fresh content and backlinks are being added to the site regularly, how many days it takes to reappear? I know exact days cannot be determined but roughly?

This is I do regularly to my site:

      1. one self written 400+ article post- Book mark with Digg, Reddit, IMautomator, Ping.fm and SocialBot (IncanBot)

      2. Check for the content if it indexed at Google (indexing takes 3-4 hours), then submit the article (same version-non spin) to few article directories, then mass submission using ArticleBot (one link pointing to inner page).

      3. Submit the article to FTS (free version)

      4. Make a video and upload to Youtube.

      5. At least 10 blog commenting (on topic relevant comment after reading the post). However, I do not confine on my niche to find blogs to comment. This allows me to get higher PR, edu even gov blogs to comment.

      6. Distribute to content sharing sites (occasionally)

I am doing this so far. Is there anything I should add? Will my site return back after disappearing from 12th position a month and half ago?

More backlinks to your homepage only helps your site. In your case, it could still be Google Dancing. Just continue to build backlinks and write quality content to your site, your ranking will be back eventually. It happened to me a few times. My main keyword was on the first page of Google, then it disappear for like a month and came back with a even higher ranking. During that month period, I just constantly adding fresh and unique content to the site and build backlinks. Oh, forgot to mention, it actually happened when my site was over 1 year old.

The Google Dance is on. They don't know whether to come or go ... the same when they tried to remove Google Places but the boss said no, and now they're trying to get rid of Google Videos. They're all mixed up. Hopefully they can get their s--t together and stop this dancing around.

I think and also noticed since the big update from Google that a few of my sites are bouncing all over the place,I have a site that was ranking on page one for over a year and now is sandboxed,I also have a site that was sandboxed to page 58 and now returned back to page one,so we will just have to wait it out until they finish their changes to get a clear idea on what to do.
I would continue to build steady links to your site as usual.

You should try to build links to inner pages of your site as well as Google finds it suspicious if the links are only going to your homepage.

My god, you just made me chuckle 3 times in a row with that contradictory humor.

Right, there shouldn't be a reason why it would fall... but it just does. There are many reasons for a Google dance, but I can't be too sure of what is happening to your site as I don't have the details. I'm pretty sure this is a Google dance.

Try scroogling it in a day's time, and see if it goes back up.

You should try finding cached copies of your newly added backlinks too. Otherwise I wouldn't think they are the cause of it after only 1 day.

In the meantime, just continue building your backlinks. Though i've actually had neglected sites in micro-niches stay at #1 without any backlinking for a month.

Diversify the backlinks to all pages of your site and add unique content regularly when you are doing link exchange. That gives more smooth appearance to google bot.

As everyone else has pretty much said, it's the dance. I've had a site jump between multiple pages in just one day.

The dance can even last for a few months, though it will stabilize a bit during this time. So be patient.

Brand new sites tend to dance like crazy.

It's a really hard question to answer unless we know what type of backlinks you have, where they came from and the types of sites you're competing with etc etc.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to know the specifics, I'm just saying that backlink campaigns are all different and it's hard to say why it has dropped.

Simply posting backlinks to your homepage isn't enough anyway. Try backlinking to inner pages that are keyword specific normally does the job.

You generally get different pages of your site ranking when you backlink them individually rather than just the homepage. It's also better long term for your site.

Send me a pm mate. I did an experiment on just this sort of thing and I don't mind sharing my results.
