Craigslist & IP Addresses

On another Warrior's great video about successful CL postings he suggests

  1. buy a high speed wireless card,
  2. make 2 postings from a verified account
  3. Disconnect
  4. Clear browser history
  5. Obtain new IP address
  6. Log into new verified address
  7. Rinse & Repeat

My question is: Instead of buying a high speed wireless card and the monthly cost, has anyone had success/know if buying a Proxy Server/IP Masking software program would be as successful? Perhaps even more cost effective and less time spent on the connects/disconnects?

Thanks Warriors!

proxies won't work... in fact 95% of high speed wireless cards won't work anymore either. The subnets for Verizon, Alltel and Sprint are being blocked. The only thing that has been working with a high success rate is dial up.

I haven't marketed anything on CL for about 6 months or so, and from what I am hearing its only getting more difficult. My advice would be to not waste your time there to be completely honest.

My opinion as an "former avid Craigslist marketer"... don't try screwing around with Craigslist anymore.

Unless you want to get into the same legal trouble as some of my Craigslist Auto Posting software buddies did.

    Not worth the risk.

Just a heads up, you can change your ip on dsl and cable fairly easily without disconnecting your modem. Now I don't know if will get you in any trouble if you do it dozens of times but I do it every so often. All you need to do is release and renew your ip address.

    For Vista -
    1. click on the Start Menu
    2. type "cmd" in the text box that appeared about the start button
    3. wait for "cmd.exe" to show up in the start menu area (under the heading "Programs")
    4. right-click on "cmd.exe" and select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu that pops-up
    5. when the dialog box comes up (User Account Control) asking you for permission, select "Continue" to open the command prompt
    6. type "ipconfig /release" and hit Enter
    7. after the IP is reset to 0.0.0.0, type "ipconfig /renew" and hit Enter. Your computer should then see its correct IP address.
    For Windows XP -
    1. click on the Start Menu, and select Run
    2. type "cmd" in the Open box and click OK
    3. type "ipconfig /release" and hit Enter
    4. after the IP is reset to 0.0.0.0, type "ipconfig /renew" and hit Enter. Your computer should then see its correct IP address.
