HELP! PDF Links... Not Clickable!

Hello Warriors,

I created a document on MS Word 2011 (Mac version) and clicked
'save as' PDF. The PDF was created fine except the hyperlinks aren't
clickable.

Does anyone have any solutions to correct this?

Thanks,

Robert

In Word, highlight the words that you want linked then right click and select Edit Hyperlink. Put your hyperlink in there as well.

    Hope that helps.

The same thing happened to me when I tried to convert a Word document to pdf. The links aren't clickable.

So I just used Open Office (openoffice.org). No problem converting to pdf and the hyperlinks are clickable.

@ Mike Roosa - The links are ok within the actual Word file, it's
when I save it as a PDF that the issue arises.

@ Michael Lee - OpenOffice is great but I don't like the spacing
between paragraphs as it leaves too much white space and I can't
manipulate it like I do in Word. I'm using 1.5 spacing...

@ Beatrice - I've looked for the free trial and I can't seem to find it.
All I see is two subscription options... do they still offer the free trial?

I'm having the same problem in Word 2011. Even though the hyperlinks are active in Word, when I convert to a PDF (any method, I've tried them all) the links don't hold. I don't want to use Open Office or Google Docs because I would have to reformat the entire document. The only work around I've figured out is to re-establish the links in Acrobat Pro. What a waste of time. Just one more reason to hate Microsoft.

Has anyone figured out another way?

Bit late I know, but for future reference, I just used these guys and my links work (except image links, but they were easy enough to add back in as I only had a couple).

Open Office line spacing can be found in the Format > Paragraph section.
(at least it is in LibreOffice.org OpenOffice spin-off that I use )

I'm going to agree with the other folks that have suggested Open Office. I've used it for creating PDFs, and the links are preserved. It works like a charm. I haven't found the formatting issues to be significant.

I agree Anomalous, I have never had any problems with line spacing In Open Office and even If you do you can edit the line spacing.

Get pdf printer for word. Install it and it adds an icon in word to save as pdf and links work fine otherwise like others said I would go with open office but pdf printer works great in word.

The easiest way I've found is to compose a doc in HTML, open it with FireFox that has the print to pdf addon installed.

Right-click on the page, print to PDF and it preserves all links and anchor links. Most of the other converters don't retain anchor links.

Really simple and you can convert any Web page that you happen to be on to a PDF just with a right-click! It's simple and brilliant. Heaps of options available in the setup.
