A Little Crazy & Easy Ways to
Get Traffic to Your Site from Offline Methods

1. Why not do a trade with your local restaurants or businesses. Offer to take a picture of their business location and write about their services. Then post it on Google maps for them.

In return, they will advertise your website on their menus or give your business cards to customers. You could also get shops to put your flyers in each bag with orders in return for your services.

2. Offer truck drivers, delivery drivers or pizza delivery drivers a few bucks a month to put bumper sticker on the back of their vehicle.

You could also offer companies that have delivery drivers out all day, the same thing you did for local restaurants and businesses to post information about their business on Google maps in exchange for putting your bumper stickers on the back of their delivery vehicles.

3. Why not put together a free eBook on a CD and give to your local businesses to give away as a free gift with purchase.

Example: if you sell golf info eBooks, put together a free CD on how to cut points off your golf score and offer it to golf shops to get their customers.

4. Pay your paperboy to insert flyers in each of newspaper before they deliver them.

5. This one is somewhat gutsy. You know how all the convenience stores have those free advertising papers you can pick up on your way out the door. Why not insert your flyers into each newspaper on the stands.

6. Print up T-shirts with your website address and walk through the mall to advertise your website. You could also pay teenagers a couple of bucks to all ware your T-shirts when they are shopping in malls.

7. Here is another gutsy one. Print up Post-it notes with your website information on them and put them in books in the library on similar subjects to your website content. If you are too nervous to do this, why not check out a few books per week and only put them in these books. This way if the librarian does find your post it notes, you can just say you were using them for bookmarks.

8. Have coasters made up with information about your website and offer them free to local nightclubs. Many nightclubs and bars find it difficult to get the beer distributors to give them the coasters free and do not like the extra expense of them so they will be trilled to get them free from you.

9. Put your business cards or flyers on every bulletin board you can find. Most laundry mats, grocery stores and college libraries have bulletin boards. Find as many as you can and put your flyers on them. Check back periodically in case they clean the board and put your flyers back up.

10. Have pens printed with your company information and offer them free to banks grocery stores and restaurants to keep in a cup by the register for people who do not have a pen. You could also allow them to give to their customers.

11. Buy Billboard on a busy street or highway to advertise your website. You could also check out bus stop benches on busy corners where they will be seen often.

12. Do you live on a busy street? For around $20, you can get two whole 4' x 8' sheet of hardboard. Then just put two sheets together with hinges and make a huge sign to put in your front yard advertising your website. Make sure to check with your local Chamber of Commerce, as some cities do not allow you to signs even in your own front yard.

13. Use Post-it notes printed with your website information to put your advertising on the doors of cars in busy parking lots. Just make sure the sticky part is attached on the window and not on the car paint, as you do not want to take any chance of marking their paint.

Be creative. There are so many inexpensive ways to promote your business offline. Sit down and write anything you can think of and then decide which ones will work the best for you.

Good Luck!
