    1. give massive amount of value for cheap. - I do that all the time
    2. pay for testimonials on fiverr
    3. simply ask for them from others (often times than not they will say yes)

This is bad advice. You will not only lose credibility but your sales will also be affected. I have seen many salespages with fake Fiverr video testimonials and I can tell you those testimonials suck big time because the person giving the testimonial has no clue about the product.

Here are a couple of ways to get testimonials.

      1. Initially, you can give away free copies of your product to gather testimonials.

      2. Sell your product as it is and offer your customers a bonus provided they offer you a testimonial.

Depends on what you want them for.

Meaning... Are you collecting them for a product or service or what?

I get my testimonials usually from either happy clients, people I consult with, live events I held and handed out a comment card with a spot for them to leave a short testimonial if they got value from it.

My favorite line that works a treat!

"A Positive testimonial would be {awesome|appreciated} if you feel it has been earned"
[URL to where you want the comment HERE]

    Works for me very well.

    Cheers

If you have sold some products before, simply ask they buyers about their experience with your product. If not, give it away for free on the condition that they provide feedback.

Getting testimonials? Ask for them. Once they bought a product/service or a few days/weeks after sent them a quick questionaire to rate your services and ask them what their experience was with you, how would they rate the product, bla bla, you can get creative with the questions.

Then just add up the answers and ask them if you can use their answers in your marketing. Once they say yes, great you just got a testimonial... now get 10 more...

The "power of reciprocity" is an excellent theory. Outside of providing a wonderful product/service, go out of your way and do a small favor for your clients (preferably the outspoken ones) through a value-added, a hand written thank you letter, etc. - something that gives them a bit of special attention. Then you will hold very strong leverage in getting that homerun testimonial.

Find someone you highly respect and ask for them to review
it for you. There is nothing better than having someone who
is highly educated on the topic & well known in that niche.

    Hey There,

I usually just let them know I'd appreciate a positive OR negative review on the product or service.. All feedback is welcomed. Provide quality and the testimonials should come..

    Simply put...

    1.) Have an OUTSTANDING product.

    2.) Give away review copies.
