Why Wouldn't it Convert?

I've been running www.MyGrants.us for about 4 years now. The traffic we're getting per month simply via SEO is worth $10K+ if we were to buy that on Google.

Other businesses in our niche (government grants), with no solid product are able to purchase $51,000 worth of ads on Google per month (I found this through a couple of research tools) which means to me, that they must be making reasonably well above that amount ?? Right ??

And by the way, they're advertising for the same keywords, that we're naturally ranking for on the 1st page of google.

We've got good amount of Visitor to Email Signups, the ratio is like 60% optin rate. 25% optin to LEAD conversion rate (Lead being a Full Fledge Detailed Application Form filled up by the Visitor) ...

But Extremely Low .. Lead to Sale Conversion Rate !!!

I need your help.

If you can please give a quick look to our website i.e. www.MyGrants.us and scroll through the pages to get a quick feel of how we've arranged our funnel and content ... can you suggest some things that you would do, to increase lead to sales conversion rate?

Do we need to optimize certain pages .. or do a hard pitch or soft pitch somewhere .. or a sales video .. or what? I've tried several things but nothing seems to be working at that point.

Also tried $99.95 / $49.95 / $34.95 as a price but... no significant change in Conversion Rates.

If you're able to help me and suggest some good things, as a token of thanks, I'll share some REALLY valuable goodies with you for free.

I'm talking about $3000 to $5000 worth of goodies (each) I bought from John Reese, Frank Kern, Eben Pagan, Rich Scheferen, Jeff Walker, Dan Thies and who not .. you get what I mean :-)

Please help a little bit !!!

Oh, my! Your page is like a roadmap with no N, S, E, or W. There's no compelling headline. There's so much stuff there a person's eyes don't know where to go. And that's because the writer and/or designer of the page hasn't directed them. I'd bet your visit stats show many people click away pretty quick.

The good news is it's a relatively easy fix for a competent copywriter. I'd also get those silly adsense ads off the home page. You've got page one from organic traffic and you're going to let someone click away to a potential competitor for chump change? Not smart. Good luck.

Thanks for your feedback Charles, To be honest, I personally don't prefer the Adsense put on the home page ... but the only reason I'm doing that right now is that the cumulative income of Adsense is ironically more than my "ONLINE" sales so to say.

I've got a team calling the leads via phone to sell them as well, and that rate is also lower. But the no. of people ordering online, is like 1-2 in a month or even not that !! Which is kinda strange.

So because the online sales wasn't working as such, I decided to put Adsense and it gives $500 - $1000 at the end of the month which isn't bad ..

But yes, if I could somehow get to get some reasonable conversions online, I'll be glad to keep the adsense only in the inner pages and not on the home page.

Here's how its working right now:

Optin Box ---> Lead / Application Form ---> A couple of Affiliate Offers ---> Sales Page

30-40 out of 100 visitors Optin .. and 25-30 out of them fill out the full form .. and around 25 of them make it upto the sales page ..... and then they're gone !

Overhaul the sales page and really make it a sales page.

Captivating Headline, a bunch of great What's in it for them bullet points, a decent story, a call to action. Boom. There you go.

Seriously... go with a traditional Direct Response marketing sales letter and you would probably kill it.

I notice you aren't using any emotional sales tactics at all. Why?
"Government Grants, Small Business Grants, Housing Grants, Education Grants, Minority Grants & More ..."
Your headline is really weak. You need to have something that will grab their attention right away. Think about three things that people can get out of your service/offers and put that on the top of the page.

    For example:
Get up to $50,000 in government grants that you will never have to repay!
Unlike loans, grants do not have to be repaid - you need to tell people that, don't assume they know it.
Click here to find out if you are eligible for a grant now - free evaluation
Hook them with a free evaluation so you can get their email and stuff.

On the other hand, you say that you already have people clicking on your stuff and even filling out forms. The fact that they stop at the sales page means that it is the sales page that has a problem.

The first sentence is grammatically incorrect. Hire a writer using that $500-1000 you get from Adsense.

These are excellent suggestions, I would follow them... basically in short words all you need is a better marketer, someone that know how to position your niche by getting full attention on your product, people is just missing that part, they opt in... but where is the interest,, that is gone with your poor captive design, I would say that start over your design, put some colors that get attention right away... AGAIN, you need a better marketer, you need a slogan that will position your brand among others and will catch everyones attention..... take the most famous cola soda and the second one as an example... how the second one positions to the public knowing that their competition is HUGE... investigate on that... is all about their marketing, the first one is already positioned as the best to drink in family etc,, everything about family and good living... but the second one positioned to the market as the ones who provide the best party, refreshing etc... so whatever they do catch attention from people to people, so thats what you need to think of.. :O
