What's your experience with (paid) expired domain traffic like?
When it comes to paid traffic, most people would think PPC. But there's also this lesser known form of paid traffic known as expired domain traffic. The idea behind this sort of paid traffic is simple. You pay $X, and the company will give you Y guaranteed visitors to your website.
How they do it is that they register a ton of expired domains with existing traffic, and then they redirect these expired domains related to your website to your URL until they've generated the number of unique visitors you paid for. These traffic are supposed to be 'targeted' btw.
So i created a simple one page website the other day with an article i paid $20 for, and introduced a product at the bottom. On the sidebar i gave away an ebook in exchange for their first name and best email.
Afterwards i paid $20 for a targeted campaign and guaranteed 5000 unique visitors. I figured that $20 is nothing because 1 sale settles it easily. Whatmore if i can build a list with this traffic I'll easily make it back over and over again.
To cut a long story short, The campaign was completed about 7 days later, and Google Analytics shows far less unique visitors. I know that GA is not 100% accurate though. Clickbank analytics show 3 hops i think. Out of which, i probably clicked on it once to make sure my affiliate ID is in the affiliate link. Not a singe sale. Not a single subscriber to the list as well.
Would love to know your experiences with paid expired domain traffic so i can know what went wrong.
