Facebook marketing for a local business in exchange for ads

A singer wants me to manage his facebook profile. He doesn't want to pay a monthly fee. So, should I offer to manage his facebook profile in exchange for the opportunity to include a few affiliate or CPA ads every now and then? He'll get lots of fans and promotion for his music and I'll get commissions from affiliate and CPA offers.

Please let me know what you think about this business deal.

I have a similar set up with a band that I am friends with. This particular band is on their way up so I offered to do it as a favor though. I just asked that they give me a testimonial, use them as case study and that they referred me any other bands they know but didn't tell them I did it for free. From those efforts I have landed several knew clients which I sold fan pages and facebook marketing to. In addition the testimonial as I'm sure helped with social proof for my other services and will likely help bring in business for a long time to come. My best advice? Help the guy out for free or as little as you can and it'll come back to you in other ways.

Thanks for you reply. The thing is that I have already helped him for free for many years and he hasn't sent me any referrals. If I decide to do this I would have to get something in return. I was wondering if CPA and affiliate programs would have some success with a singer's facebook fans. I really have no clue as to what they could be interested in. I figured some dating or mobile offers could do well but would like to hear other's opinions. Thanks for your advice though.

Looks like you don't have much of a choice anyway, does it? He's not willing to pay a monthly fee, so you are only left with the affiliate promotion option...that is unless you're going to decline his offer.

I think you should go for it. If it converts well, you could make way more than the monthly fee he refuses to pay.
