Killer Converting Squeeze Page

If you are trying to build a list online you need squeeze pages. I came across one the other day that I really liked and actually implemented it on one of my sites.

Once I implemented it, I saw my conversions creep up to close to 50% which I find a good conversion rate.

Right now, all traffic is going to this page through articles and a few blog posts on some free blogs. Not getting a ton of traffic yet, but the page is off to a good start as far as converting goes.

All I've done is put an image in the top right of the squeeze page that has a play button on it so it looks like an image. When someone clicks on it to play it, they get a message saying put in your email address to watch the video.

It's as simple as adding a javascript onclick event to your image and it really works.

I'm a big tester so I recommend split testing this with a couple of your other squeeze pages and seeing how it goes.

    Pretty evil but it takes what it takes. If you offer something your prospects really want, they will opt-in no matter what.

    I've heard having a opt-in video with a play button but no auto-play is converting better. Nobody really like auto-play, but i've never split tested it.

    Maybe a video is only a distraction after all .

      You hit the nail on the head BenoitT. You need to test everything. Even if you squeeze out 1 or 2 more email addresses, that can make a huge difference in your monthly earnings.

      Think about it.

      If you have 25 sites and you squeeze out 1 extra email per day on those sites, that's 750 additional email addresses every single month.

      Those are just opt ins, not sales. Are you kidding? If I knew how to get 50% sales conversions, do you think I'd share that?

      Sales conversions are around 1.5% on this one on the initial visit. I am selling through the auto responder though and haven't put any tracking in there yet.

      Right now this is almost all article traffic. The opt in prior to me making this change was about 20%.

      haha, i'm guessing optin conversion.

      btw, nice squeeze! these kind do convert nicely, but you should still test because I've seen a non-video squeeze convert higher still. it just depends what you're offering really.

      Beatrice, you need to add a javascript onclick event to the image. What I recommend is wrapping the image in the a tag and adding the onclick right there. For example:

        I've seen also video you click and a pop-up ask you to opt-in. You don't know you have to opt-in before. I wonder what converts better since they don't know they have to opt-in and we all know people tend to match their actions with their past decisions (sort of commitment).

        Little, subtle, psycologic effect.

        I'm split-testing a delayed opt-in form. I think it will work better because my opt-in video is around 1 minute and you can't opt-in before you heard my propaganda. I even go further by putting a link you click and the opt-in form appear. We'll see.

        Thanks for your help.

        The squeeze page was done by someone on Fiverr. Sorry for my ignorance but:

        - Where on the page do I insert this code?
        - Do I need to replace "image.jpg" with the real image.

    Here's what's working for me and it recently got conversions as high as 66.27%

    I have a Red Headline (duh)
    a smaller black subheadline

    image of the ecover on the left
    "enter your info message" on the right with moving red arrow pointing down at the opt-in box

    Then a simple "I will never share you info" and and another call to action under that.


    I also only ask for an email address, not the name and email.

    I also increased my conversions by almost 10% after I used Mike Cowles exit popup magic and utilized the audio on the exit.
