Customer Only Affiliate Program and PayPal. Bad Idea?

Hi guys,

I need some opinions concerning using a customer only affiliate program for a product that's sold through Paypal.

Good idea? Bad idea?

Also, what about putting text on the sales page telling prospective customers that after they purchase, they are able to promote the product and make their money back?

My feeling is that Paypal would frown on the latter, but I'm not sure about the first one. Just don't want to get in trouble with Paypal.

    I don't know why PayPal would have a problem with it. I am pretty sure I have seen it used before, but maybe somebody else will have more definite information.

    Why do you want to make it customer only? Are you afraid people are going to buy through their own links?

    Paypal has already made their stance on this very clear. It's a no-no. Ask the folks who used the original $7 scripts.

    It's probably okay (note the qualifier) if you only mention it to customers after they purchase. The challenge is in using it as a sales point, and turning the product into an income opportunity they have to pay to get into.

    Even then, you'd likely have to allow people who hadn't purchased to participate if they asked about it.

      That's kind of what I thought, but wasn't sure. I want to make sure I keep my nose clean with Paypal, lol.
